Bass Recommendations please!!

I agree with the G&L suggestion.
was gonna suggest a warlock, if you can find one with a double P, they sound awesome, but VERY uncomfortable basses. you can hear the bass a the beginning of this song or this one
also a P bass will do the Job
I know my samples are not black metal but will give you an idea.

I do, as I used to own one....and recommend you don't unless you want to change both pickups to make it a viable instrument in comparison to the rest. This isn't surprising given the low cost of the bass (this is one of Schecter's lowest priced options). The "MM pickup" doesn't sound like one, it's more a double JJ and very nasally when soloed and weak in terms of output. I was hoping it had a bit of that MM vibe to it (I have a MM Ray btw to compare it to), and not even close, it's a double JJ bridge pu like that on the Ibanez TMB300. I love how the bass feels though, got a great neck, light weight etc, in all other areas, it's a very good option. I love Schecter basses mind you and do think some of them would be good to recommend, I just wouldn't suggest the Stealth unless you plan to upgrade the pickups and maybe the electronics.

Out of that list, I would recommend the Spector, but probably should consider a L2000 given the choice of music. Neck is wide if that's a consideration, but the bass is extremely versatile and has probably the most powerful pickups (the MFDs) on an off-the shelf bass I've yet run into, on top of that, G&L overwound the pickups by 15-20%, so it's got a heck of a bite to it.

I voted Spector Legend. I used to own one myself, one of the first of the Legend series that came with a bubinga veneer top and active EMG P/J and a 2 band EMG preamp. It was a killer bass, very easy to find a tone that cuts without burying everyone else.

You know? Actually the proprietary pickups are the only thing that I'm not sold on regarding the Schecter bass. Although it wouldn't be so difficult just upgrading the pickups for EMG'S. That being said, it's always better to have a great sounding instrument from the start. Sadly the L2000 is not available in Mexico and shipping gets too expensive if I order it from Reverb.

I sorta do the same. Usually for my own entertainment but I also play with bands for recording. What I do tends to run the gamut from solo compositions (that sort of has some sort of country-fried jazz feel to it) all the way Grindcore.

On bass, my Jazz (passive 70's styled USA Geddy Lee) has never let me down or even left me wanting for something different. I finally achieved on bass what I have wanted on guitar: one instrument instead of a collection.

Now that I know it is possible, I am on a mission for guitar, too. So far... no winners. The ones I have tried were very, very nice and all. They'd do some genres (to my ears) VERY well and, some times, most of the ones I am interested in, VERY well. ...but then really come up very short on others. I get how much this is threading a needle, but I am VERY hopeful that the next guitar I am going to try will be it. It is a Fender American Tele Ultra.

This particular Spector has Bartollini pickups and a Bass and Treble boost only. I know the Barts are not as good as emg's so, still not sure.
