Every string manufacturer has their own set "Winding Length" for each "Scale Length" of electric bass strings. The "Winding Length" is the measurement of the string from the Back of the Ball End to Silk or to the First Taper on strings with no silk where the string starts to get thinner (B / E / A strings). Please note string lengths may vary in some cases where strings are hand made or hand wrapped with silk.
