Bass Transcriptions

Composer and keyboard player Gerard Koerts of the Dutch band Earth & Fire, died yesterday at the age of 71. This song was his greatest hit, reaching N°1 in 5 countries.
Verses have an 11 (5+6) measure structure.

I've always hated the fact that I love this song, and the awkward dance moves of the singer :D

Hi @ChrisDev. Please keep in mind the changes to rule 7 on the site. You must now link directly to the PDF itself rather than linking to your page that contains the pdf. This rule only affects posts going foreward. We’re not asking you to go back and edit all your prior posts. Thanks.

Hi, how's it going? Could you possibly take a suggestion? It sounds relatively simple but I just can't hear it quite well enough to figure it out. The song is roundhouse rock from the fallout NV soundtrack, and I know having a line like that to use all over the fretboard would be extremely useful. This is quite a thread, nice work! I haven't done much transcription yet except Maximumisness by George Clinton

Thank you so much for this, I couldn't even find who this was performed by! Now I have some more work to do :D do you transcribe the stuff yourself if you can't find it online?
I always transcribe myself. It makes me understand songs better. And by the end of transcribing a song, I already know how to play at least half of it.

That is very impressive man. So it takes time, but is it most effective(if I was to, say, sit and listen with my bass) to go through and just write note for now what you hear while rewinding parts and put it all together? Or is there a better process? Sorry I play 20 questions but I'm relatively new

12-Bar Blues?
:)
Correct. Rockabilly style

Yes, listening again and again. Sometimes slowing down parts.
After a while you begin to recognize patterns, intervals, etc Some knowledge of music theory helps as wel

Not sure but I think you're still allowed to link but only directly to your transcription and not a front end web site??
I'm afraid not. I contacted Bob via PM and he told me that links to any webpage are no longer allowed.

Links to personal/professional websites: To avoid the appearance of "redirect spam", linked content (i.e. - mp3 files, PDF or image files, lesson/educational material, etc.) to a personal/professional website must be linked directly to the content rather than to a web page containing the content plus other website information such as links and menu redirects. In other words, when linking to an external site for educational purposes, the only place site information should be visible is in the address bar.

Correct, if you had your transcriptions available as pdfs you’d be allowed to link directly to them, but a page with the the tab on it is no longer allowed. And btw this rule wasn’t made specially because of anyone or because of tabs.
