This is my second Arione w/ carbon fiber center. The first [still on my trainer bike] has some the threading ripped around the side bumpers. Always loved this version and happen to find another used on eBay. They only made these for a short while and sold new for $250.00. Snagged this for $55.00.
I never thought of doing that! It probably would've helped with the last set I set up tubeless. Those tires kicked my butt!
My Gravel bike. '85 Centurion Comp TA. The frame was a gift from Robbie Tunes. I built it with bin parts.
BTW, I've got 5 more Centurion Ironman bikes.

Nice, my bike (after the Schwinn Stingray) was a brand new 1984 Centurion Pro Tour 15. I rode that thing until 2008 when I got hit head on by a car... After that I built a Surly Long Haul Trucker. What tires are those with the red pinstripe? They are cool!
Not sure about the tires but they actually match the red tint on bike paint. But I like it too.
Here's another one of my Centurion, it's a last year ('89) Ironman in the rare color scheme cobalt blue marble fade.

Here's my '88 Centurion Ironman. The only year the Ironman was offered in carbon fiber. Built for Triathlon or TT.

Yes, one piece. I'm able to get any standard handlebar position and a couple extra aero positions.

I think this may be the only photo I have of my Pro Tour 15. It was on a trip down the coast of Oregon and California in 1986. The bike is in the front left and I'm on the right.

I date my first decent bike to about 1975 - a Raleigh Grand Prix, built up with a grab bag of components. I put many thousands of miles on that, and its successor, a ~1980 Raleigh Professional. I got into fixed gear riding before today's fixie-riding hipsters were even a gleam in the milkman's eye - John Howard's 1975 Pan Am Games Raleigh track bike, which I bought from Joe Bentley at Houston Bicycle Company in about 1982, with the proceeds from the spring break I spent remodeling the porno video store. That's the bike I learned to ride rollers on. And then, about 1985 I bought a Vitus frame - the shop called me and said they couldn't get it for me, but they did have a Vitus aero frame they'd sell me for the same price. (Hardly anyone on earth has even heard of this frame nowadays.) And that was what I rode till about 2006 when the fork broke on it and I went to a Surly Cross-Check. Nowadays the Cross-Check is considered a long wheelbase comfort bike but it's got almost identical geometry to the Mercian Olympic a girlfriend bought back in '83 and almost identical geometry to my old Raleigh Pro - both of which were considered highly responsive road and criterium racing frames in the day. Note the Brooks saddle (springs! The drilled-water-bottle crowd are all having conniptions right now)...
A couple weeks ago I found this on the curb to be picked up, put a decent saddle on it, and I'm waiting for the track cog and lock ring I ordered to come in. I'll probably put drop bars on it. It's probably the only $200 Schwinn Gambit on earth with a Campagnolo Super Record seat post (hey, it was in the parts box) - with special beer can shim accessory. I've got some 32 mm tires to replace the boneshakers. It's a surprisingly nice little ride for the neighborhood, once I tightened all the bolts that the stoned 16 year old that put it together for Wally World didn't.

Yeah those old Team Raleigh bikes were great bikes (I had a Raleigh track bike in those colors, John Howard's bike from the '75 Pan American Games), but I was referring to the ornate frames with decorative lugs, as the Hetchins, Mercian, etc.
The Team Raleigh bikes are true racing bikes, without any ornamentation or features not directly related to winning races.
