Basses on the Couch

Interesting! I’ve never had the opportunity to play one, so i’ve always been curious about them.
I’ve had a few basses that stretched the limits of my left arm’s reach like that,and sold them.

Notice how next to the stingray, it looks like the first fret is at least an inch higher. It looks like the Spector has the bridge up closer to the neck and the neck looks taller than the stingray. So when playing it, it feels shifted further away.

Thanks! Me and David are online Rickenbuddies, his collection is about 5 (?) times what i have.
My Ricks currently are a Cheyenne 1, a Cii, 2 Laredos, and a ‘74 4000.
And Peter @RickenbackeR Farm also has a fabulous herd of Ricks,including a pair of 4004s i’d love to write a bad check for!

The black one on the couch on the right looks like it has a really wide body? Is that just an illusion from the neck of the bass setting in front of it? I know I’ve seen somewhere on TB how the bodies have changed over the last 30 or so years.

I put them on the bridge.
I get a better reading on the bridge.
