Are there any American marketed basses that are currently building in Korea? I couldnt think of any, as they've all gone to Indonesia and China, it seems.

Basses still made in Korea?

AFAIK, even Ibanez pulled out of Korea & now make their Premium line in Indonesia, and as always the Prestige line is built in Japan.
I love the Korean-made stuff I've tried out & own a MIK BTB right now.
Just a couple of weeks ago I came across a EX series Ibanez in a pawn shop, which is basically the poor man's RG, made in Korea. The thing was built well & sounded good, a steal for only $150
but I only just purchased a S520

Aren't the Peerless JC clones basically the same Korean production company that used to make the JCs, now that Epiphone has moved JC production to China? If I recall...

Anything by the company Sire. Look into them. They're reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally good.
Schecter's are still made in Korea I believe. The Sterling by Musicman basses are now made in Korea instead of Indonesia.
Spector has had an overseas operation in Korea for over 30 years now (at the same factory!). They originally made their NS2A model over there. Now the Legend, Timbre and some signature models are made in Korea.
They also have operations in the Czech Republic (ReBop and Euro) and of course the custom shop for USA-made basses is located in Woodstock, NY.

Indonesian and Chinese, not Korean. I agree, though, I like them too.
Yea, big fan here too. But they're a Korean company with production in Indonesia and China.

I didnt know that Praxis (aka Sterling) was in Korea. Any source on this?
I forgot there were still Shecters coming out of Korea, I knew they were moving some to China.
Yes - Peerless was originally a Korean subsidiary of Fuji Gen Gakki (Japan), but went independent in the '80s and became OEM for Epiphone, Gretsch, et al. In 2007 they scaled down and now mostly build high-quality jazz boxes under their own name, plus a couple of bass models.

The Koreans are still cranking out guitars. There is a huge company called something like "World Instruments " that the Chappers guy from Andertons has building his line of instruments for him. He shows some of the building processes on YouTube. You want your own line of guitars or basses with your own name on them?. No problem, you just pony up enough cash for a minimum order.

My Breedlove Stage is made in Korea. Fantastic build quality.
Dan Lakin is building his D. Lakin basses in Korea. Really, really nice instruments with great attention to detail. And I just happen to have one for sale in the classifieds...
I remember that bass whisperer guy talking about these. I just remember feeling like I was out of the loop because I had never heard of him.
