I don't think it's the bass that is commanding the situation here. It's definitely the epic chops that are in control. Colour me jealous. Haha.

As far as commanding basses, this one always gets comments (sorry for the bad pic, it's the only one I have of it, and no, it's not lefty, the camera just flipped the image)

well the story behind this one is a great one. saw it in sam ash a couple weeks ago. played it, loved it, went home. came back a couple days later and bought it.

(here comes the interesting part: )

but not before the repair guy there drilled a hole in the upper horn for a straplock button. so it's very fortunate that i liked it with the band because there was no returning it.

Haha wow hey it's good you like it though. And that bass would definitely command attention on stage. That body style... :hiding: it's not necessarily ugly, it's just like seeing a double sided pencil to me... it weirds me out lol.

That's the bass for space music... still looking for the bass for metal :confused:

Btw, what kind of tone does masonite have? Would you consider it a tone-composite? How does it compare to other tone-composites (e.g. luthite, acrylic, etc.)? Do you even believe composites affect the overall tone of the bass? :hiding:

well i don't know how it compares to a bass made of wood scraps ;) but it's kind of twangy. not super twangy but it will do super twang if you turn the treble up. it'll do the sound of the bass in "la bamba" by richie valens no sweat, but it's versatile enough to where rinus gerritsen could use one on the golden earring classic "radar love."

And poop attracts flies, big deal, unfortunately many of us never get the chance to play for a house full of bassists. What ever happened to stuffing your jeans?

I wouldn't say it commands authority but my G&L ASAT drew a mixed response last gig( first with it) lots of sounds great did you get it custom made, a guitar body with a bass neck??
my guitarist plays a tele ..

and the one I loves the most and was kinda waiting for from somebody , "nice bass, sounds great but you should really get a Fender"...


the bass player from the other band we played with was drooling all over her through.

(got some shot coming from the weekends gig)
