The Epiphone EB-3, this bass is rad, except the headstock being too heavy, but it is an SG. AWESOME tone, and if set up properly, fast as well. Also has a set neck, which I like! all for super cheap!

I have a friend who is the manager over the guitar and bass department at our local GC. I just had a Warrior built for me and I brought it in to show him and he said, "to bad you couldn't get a Fender. Thats a REAL bass." I was dumbfounded.

is all I get.Yeah I know what you mean...I've got a MIM Jazz which was my number 1 and only beaten really by my Jag which I got 3 years ago - never got any bashing for it though, just compliments...surprised compliments from my teacher who wanted to buy it off me if I ever wanted to get rid. Recently though people on here have been saying the Squier vm and cv basses kick mexican fenders arse, I couldn't say coz I've never played one but it does annoy me if you get a good one from a series and people start slamming that series - I don't know much about the modern mim's though, not actually been to a guitar shop for about 4 years coz the 2-3 good ones we had are shut down now where I am
I'm not saying that it gets "hate" , but Pedulla's definitely are not the flavor of the day anymore. I absolutely love the playability and tone of my early/mid 90's Thunderbass.
I purchased and returned a Musicman Sterling , because when I played it for a set at a gig the guitarist told me the Pedulla sounded way better when we were on break.
The singer (who also is a bass player) in my other band said that the Pedulla even sounded good through his little Peavey practice amp. Every time I let him (the singer) play my Pedulla he says that he absolutely loves it.
The only reason that I mention the Pedulla in this thread is because I have heard people rip on the Bartolini pick-ups. All I can say is that they sound great to my ear and work for the style of music that I play.
I'd love to try a Fedora sometime , but I'm not a Doctor or a Lawyer so I can't afford one. I'm sure that they are worth $12,000 , but unless I win the lottery they are way out of my budget. I did own a 6 string Skjold that I bought used that would cost about $4000 new. I can't imagine a bass that could be 3 times better than that Skjold was. The only reason that I sold it is because I found the "C" string to be more of a nuisance than helpful.

Meh.. I love and play all my basses and have never really paid attention to anyone's opinions about any of them. I also don't slag what others choose to play. If it plays well enough for you and sounds good to your ears it is good.
I have two basses which routinely get crabbed here in TB postings: a Fender Marcus Miller V and a mid-nineties Gibson Tobias Classic 6. Paid $1600 for the MMV and $1500 for the Tobias; which is a chunk of change, but nowhere near the going boutique prices. Both are absolutely outstanding instruments; very resonant, great tones, great ergonomics. I am fortunately way past the point where I care what other people think. I like the instruments, and that's good enough for me. GL2A

There are basses I will never play, have no interest in, and think are over rated/over priced. So I dont buy them. I dont care what someone else plays with beyond what they play on it. Make that Traben sing, rock out on your Deans and regale them your B.C. Rich! I would never and have never trashed a brand or someone for their choice of bass. Yes, I've had disappointing experiences, I just sold them (at a loss no less but I'm not bitter, really, I swear) and got a better idea what I DO like.
Please dont think this is a quit yer whinin comment either, most of what I play gets looked down on often enough. Hell, I'm a Peavey nut starting in the 80's... man I caught flack in the 90's for my Peavey gear. I gots Peaveys, Ibanez, B.C. Rich, and Corts in my arsenal. I even got a Tregan Shaman...not a Traben, a Tregan, I think I'm the only person who bought one.
Seriously, anyone else own or know anyone who owns a Tregan bass? Someone must, right?

I wouldn't say it's AWESOME, but it intonates, holds tune, has a straight thin neck, good fretwork, truss works, and is very loud acoustically. For a gift from my wife, it rocks and was well worth the $150 she paid.

It looks killer, sounds great and is more comfortable than what i am getting rid of. I am glad you dig yours!
Some people just don't like coffee table basses man. Not that Fenders are the ULTIMATE bass and are the only ones that should be played, but still.

In high school music class, I plaid a beat up Squier Precision. It was probably an Affinity, but if there's a cheaper line than the Affinity, this was it. I think the strings were about 10 years old (it that's even possible), they were incredibly grimy. One of the knobs was missing, the jack was scratchy (even though I tried fixing it time and time again), the fretting was awful (pokey on the edge of the fretboard, but i got used to it). Not to mention it had suffered at the hands of Junior High school students for many years.
...Yet somehow, I played better on that bass almost any other bass. There was just something about it. I became very attached to that bass. Given the opportunity, I'd gladly buy it from them.
