Basses you will never sell..........show em

My Lakland 55-94 below........others have come and gone. This one has been with me since 01' (she turns 10 y/o this year). Even the wife says this one never gets sold!!!

How is that Low end Jazz? Looks wicked. I love how the super wide pickups look. What brand pickups are those? How does it sound?

Anyway, I'll never sell my G&L L2500, one of the first out of the Factory, S/N B000948. Haven't seen another built like it yet.

And 2nd in line is my '96 'Ray4, with the brid's eye maple neck, and beautifully grained ash body...I can't stop staring at it.

I wanted a Ric since I was 14 and saved up money from summer jobs. While I was in college I used to walk a mile each way to the only shop for miles around that had a tobacco burst 4001. Finally managed to get one when my parents topped up my savings with enough money to get a secondhand 1973 Jetglo for my 21st birthday - so 14 to 21, waited a third of my life for it.

When I had a young family I was working too much overtime to play in a band and we were still broke. At one point we were so desperate for money that I 'sold' the Ric...that's to say, a buyer was literally handing over the money when my wife stepped in and said "Please don't sell it, I know how much it means to you, we'll get by somehow" so the bass was saved. Shortly afterwards I got a steady gig and the Ric helped put food on the table for the next 20 somethong years as my only bass.

It'll never get sold, but when I don't play anymore I will find a promising bass player who I can be sure will cherish it and give it to them

I could never sell my first bass, my dean, for sentimental reasons. I don't see me selling my American P-Bass either though.

when did you put your order in? i put one in for a 5 string version of that bass in late august. can't wait! exciting to hear that some are leaving the shop.

oh, and never say never. i said the same thing about that bass's almost twin and then i was offered too much money for it, so i sold it.

It took only 11 months to get this one. Worth every minute of waiting! Carl is such a great guy, and he built an awesome bass for me. I can definitely say "never" on this one!

This was my first proper bass i dreamed of owning a Fender since i was young, Mexican J 03 model i got it second hand of a guy on ebay it arrived wrapped in bin bags no box even the postman was amazed it the neck didn't break. Only pic i have at mo i might add the second ashtray cover at some point it took a bottle of JD to do that one.
