Just been listening to some King Diamond lately to get in the halloween spirit and forgot about Tim Hansen, or as he was known in the early Mercyful Fate days, Tim Grabber.
Yes correct. Additional nicknames Jamerson had,
- Funky Fingers
- Diego Diegerson
In the book "Standing in the Shadows on Motown" there's explanations of all those names. Great read!

I've been Jonny B for as long as I can remember. Though there was that horrible couple of years when everyone called me Flea because I shaved my head, played bass, and jumped around on stage like an untamed stallion just like the bass player of some funk rock band that had just happened to get popular.
I've been called "One-Take-Jake" while recording. Other than that, it's usually a synonym for the word "donkey", or some derivation of said synonym.
why are nicknames usually put between the first and last names? That never made sense to me, and I think it sounds dumb. Id rather have it before or after my name.

Technically, that's not his nickname since he legally changed his name to Geddy.
Geddy Lee = Dirk (as is known by his band mates and us Rush freaks.)
People used to call me Cueball
I am white with a round head and I kept me head clean shaven.
I also got the nickname AD Walkabout for how I used to play psuedo walking style bass lines in indie music.

Link RemovedEvery time our guitar player would introduce my name for the crowd I would hit an open E and then silence resulting in a "thud". He thought that was funny that I did that instead of something cooler so my nickname became... Matt "Thud" Scott. I also have been told I look somewhat like a dinosaur when I play so people called me that for a little bit. I like Thud better.

You know your the sh!# when your finger gets it's own nickname!
I myself am not as fortunate, most call me "Pops", short for "Papajune." Folks started callin me papajune after they started calling my lady mamajune...and I have no idea why. It is funny though because I am in my early mid 20's but am still most often the father figure in groups, the disciplinarian if you will.
