I didn't see Greg Rzab mentioned yet.
I saw him playing with John Mayall a few years ago at the Greeley Blues Jam. On his way to the merch / meet 'n' greet tent afterwards I talked to him for a few minutes (very nice and humble guy, by the way). I said "I had no idea it was going to be you playing behind Mayall." He said "How do you know who I am?" I said "Every bass player worth his salt knows who you are."
There are some great YouTube interviews with him. One interesting story is about how Eric Clapton may have saved his life.
