Stu Woods did a great job on this album. I noticed he has a fairly extensive amount of recording credits with some other higher profile artists but I can't recall anyone here ever singling him out, so I will.

I was heavy into Brand X and was shocked when Percy Jones wasn't on this album except one track and then calm came over me...it's gonna be okay...this guy is awesome on fretless bass too I thought. I have no idea where he came from or where he went but I was glad to have 'discovered' him in Brand X

Tony Butler of '80s Celtic-folk-influenced Scottish rock band Big Country (also worked with The Pretenders, Daltry/Townsend and others). His playing included great, driving pick work.



Also Herbie Flowers (loads of session with some of the biggest '60s and '70s names including Lou Reed's 'Walk On The Wild Side', later bassist with Sky) and Nick Seymour of Crowded House.

Tony's involved with Chowny

He is! Stephen Chown is based in Bristol a 45-minute drive from me and is a founding sponsor of the annual Big Fat South-West Bass Bash that I started 5 years back under the Basschat UK forum banner. Tony came along to last year's Bash to collect a Chowny bass but had such a good time that stayed for the duration (pictured here showing me how to play my bass ). He's such a nice guy.

Came across this great recording of a Joan Armatrading live performance in the Rockpalast tv studios back in '79. First time bassist Bill Bodine has shown up on my radar but it seems like 'the boy done good' since then This thing runs for an hour and a half but there's some great playing here!

Not sure where I first heard him, but I first saw Fernando Saunders in 1979 with John McLaughlin's One Truth Band. He could definitely hang with some heavy hitters.
