Bassists Shoes

Shoes most frequently worn for gigging:

1) Hot-pink Converse All-Stars.

2) DC's in grey, with hot pink logo and soles.

3) A pair of BC Women's. A cross between a deck shoe and a ballet flat. Very comfy, very cool-lookin. Wine/gold/teal-blue paisly corduroy with wine-colored suede toes.

4) Tony Lama's, riding heel, pointed toe in tan, coffee-colored mid-calf uppers trimmed in rust-brown flames, Spanish stitching at toe and on uppers. They look bada$$ with cutoff jeans.

5) My knee-high Italian dress boots, riding heel, rounded-point toe, wine-colored calfskin.

I learned not to wear flip-flops or sandals. I always end up with dirt or a rock in them, and suffer for it.

I am a female, therefore I own more than one pair of shoes...but it seems that running shoes outnumber everything else, since I run enough to wear them out on a regular basis, and then just kick around in them. Otherwise I mostly wear flip flops or Chaco sandals, and the occasional pair of skate shoes (some DC's I have had since 9th grade).

I couldn't resist this one:

That is what happens when you wear Chacos everywhere for an entire summer...I'm the foot on the left.

The Zorro stripe is amusing, but what's with the fungus-y looking toenails on both of you? Please tell us the pic is color shifted and that's why all those toenails look so diseased.

Anyone have an experience with Dr.Martens 3 eye boots?? I really like the look of them.

Make sure they fit you *perfectly*.

I have narrow feet, ankles like a princess, and slim legs. 3-eye Docs just do not fit me at all well, and rub blisters.

But I sure wish I could wear them.

See if you can find a local dealer and try on a bunch of 'em. Then, if the local store is too expensive, look online and find the pair you like at a cheaper price.

It sounds like my daughter is the Anti-Cherie, then. She got my feet in the genetic lottery. As a 13 year old she's wearing 81/2's or 9's. And the limiting factor on whether a shoe fits is the thivkness of the arch. I have Fred Flintstones feet and her feet look just like mine, only smaller.

Oooooooh, dear. Its hard to be a girl with feet like that. My best friend in high school was built that-a-way. By the time we were seniors, she wore an 11.

Shopping for prom shoes was a total nightmare. Nothing fit either of us. Everything was too wide for me, except the really expensive stuff that I couldn't afford, and *nothing* pretty fit her. Everything she tried on looked like a pair of gunboats.

But, by Gawd, she looked awesome in Docs, and I could only stand there with my too-skinny feet an envy her.
