Well, I think it is a bit of a deal. Not a BIG deal, but like, a medium deal.
What is all those peeps, plus some, come storming back here? Us mods will need to keep an eye out, with the influx of traffic.
I modded over there for the first year. They're all good peeps, I can vouch for them. For whatever weight that carries, which I realize is none.
It definitely didn't have anything to do with the 500 tin foil hat conspiracy theory threads you managed to post in those 12 short hours... Nope, no siree.That place was something else. It was basically formed as a safe place for the banned of this place to go. I got there and was banned in about 12 hours. So much for tolerance that they say this place lacks.
As to why is closed down, it's not the first forum I have been banned from that then closed down.

Some of the original members there made it clear that my politics were way too far to the left for them. I wasn't banned nor would I say I got heat for my stance but I didn't align with the politics of some there and they had no. problem making that clear. I was labeled as a "red"

Remember the Clint gang? They took to Mellowinman out in ''the real world'' as they had gotten used to rough riding in OT. Readjustment occurred.
Interesting isn't it.. People with right wing views and people with left wing views who apparently didn't feel welcome because of those views...
Sounds like open, realistic discussions if both sides felt like that..
Since Slo brought it up, it was also interesting to see the difference in how the political spectrum was viewed - to most of the Europeans, the American's definition of "left" fell in somewhere just either side of centre...
Oh and again, without breaking any confidences, the "political" make up of the mod group being referred to reflected the range of Euro-left to US-right and points in between, so anyone thinking the mod group was motivated by common political views basically hasn't a clue what they are talking about.

I love the use of "they" by folks that were never members, or bailed after a couple of days at the very beginning like all of us ran away or got kicked off of here. Let's see... I can specifically remember only 4 permanent bans. Might have been a couple more. Most of us just either stopped coming here, or stopped posting in OT because we had an OT section there with some more relaxed rules. Sure, some rage quits, and some trolling by a couple, but that happens here, and in every forum regularly.
The forum didn't fail, boys and girls; the owner's mental health did.

I don't think I posted more then a thread or two all I did was chime in on threads already posted. Of course I get PM's from those threads from people taking part agreeing with me they just are afraid to go on record themselves.
But the point was they had a specific thread where politics was allowed. But then the owner could not handle view points he did not share. That's a pretty sad joke and reflects very badly on the site owner who then went on to troll my youtube pages and thumbs down my videos.
Not the most mature guy in the bass world.

More like lies. 500 is a stretch. More like 5 to 6 threads I took part in. Not all political either.
To expand further, there were more people who posted there regularly who maintained membership here for all of that time than there were people who were banned from here...
Some people who are posting in this thread purporting to be founts of knowledge about "how it all came about" "gangs" and "cliques" are simply taking the opportunity,as alluded to by Immi, to wipe off their old butt-hurts over certain people, who incidentally aren't here to defend themselves or debate the matter with them, and give them an airing.

Hey everybody, the thread is over now, Stereoplayer didn't like it there anyway, so we can move on now and talk about stuff he likes.
Just razzing you a bit man. I seem to remember things a bit differently than you, but really none of it really matters in the slightest at this point.
I'm so ready for this all to blow over. Its like listening to my parents fight when I was a kid, but without the benefit of it eventually leading to double birthday presents.
