No not at all.

I would genuinely like to hear how @Darth Handsome sees the whole thing.

And I just hadn't read the thread for two days. That's why I am asking now.

I can't speak for Darth, but if was trying to I'd say that DH was probably a little irritated at nshuman's description of Innoc, as well as the irritation he voiced over the Fratbois. And maybe from his POV, he sees it as I do after reading here and there. That place was seeded and grew because of the Fratbois, then as soon as the Ed saw that he could have a forum with content that stretched way beyond jokes and butt pics, he gave up on the roots that kept that place going early on. If you were to look at the member list in order of who joined when, you'd see that the Fratbois made up the overwhelming majority of the first 25 members.

And dude - stop reading into things. If you are sick of it, just don't click on the thread.

I'm not sick of it, I guess, I just don't see a huge point being made either way except giving the users here a cherry for their sundaes.

I'll read but won't post, as long as that's OK.

As someone who lurked in the early days of bt247 and observed the original mass exodus, I remember all the times that Nukes posted saying that the site had too much OT content and needed bass content. Nukes even started a new bass site. I think it's very disingenuous to say that Ed abandoned his OT roots and wanted, on his own, to push for a more serious bass site when, early on, Nukes was also lobbying for that.

As for my characterization of Innoc, people can remember him however they want. I only had a few run-ins with him. I asked him to stop trolling a few times and all I got were hateful, racist, disgusting PMs in return. I'll remember him the way he treated me.

It's not closed because the no rules approach didn't work. It's closed because the owner tried to force rules on the members after the fact and then had a mental breakdown. If he would have shared the views of the members and not been out of his mind, it would still be up. I truly worry less about the site being closed and more about Ed being okay.
I recall in the very beginning, Ed advertised it as a site where there would be no bans. Then he said that the other mods wanted a temporary ban on me, but he felt I should be banned for life so he did. Then he denied he had ever made a no ban policy. It was all over politics. Seems Ed and the mods leaned very much to the left. Anyone on the right side caught a lot of heat.
When Ed was a member here, I really liked him. He actually seemed to be one of the more level headed people here, but I saw him decline over there.
I do hope he will be okay.

That's not exactly how we moderated. Direct attacks and insults weren't tolerated, not even in the "Off The Hook" section. In said section adult language was tolerated, however. This was democratically decided by voting. After the first year, moderators were chosen by nomination and voting. To my opinion the site was well moderated, with a little more tolerance than over here. We had a good team of respectful moderators. Believe me, we sometimes had a hard time moderating that bunch of outlaws :D, but I liked it a lot.
I disagree. I thought the mods were a clic that did not tolerate any deviance from their views.

And you'll see that I also pushed for more bass-related content because it was obvious that the OT section and it's participants wouldn't keep the place going let alone be attractive to new members. I don't think I mentioned that I felt Ed had abandoned OT, but that was what I gathered from others voicing their feelings. Not so much OT as a section, but the original members. I was gone WAY before any of that went down, and way before any real growth happened there.

And Martin: I hope I haven't referred to anyone in a derogatory manor in this thread. I'm trying not to do that so much anymore.

Wait, wasn't this a site where a bunch of (former) TB'ers went because they were tired of the 'overly oppressive' moderation on TB?
And you're telling me things got sufficiently out of hand that the owner of the site closed it?
The irony is strong with these...

No not all Immi!

I was supporting what you had said about people who wished to make negative comments about others :)

Some people just have take the opportunity - I could make my own comments about several of the names mentioned in this thread - I choose not to do so - that's not my understanding of what the thread, or indeed, reasonable discussion of a serious subject, is about.

And I hasten to add that in the context of where my own post was placed, none of those would be Immi, Mos, Shu or Darth...

This needs to be quoted, because I think it's something that many people have misconceptions about who didn't spend much or any time over at BT247. While the rules were looser with respect to adult conversation, the moderation of civility to one another was much tighter there in a lot of respects. I don't want to turn this into another BT vs. TB thread, but Bawana became a regular over at BT, and he was NEVER allowed to run rickshaw (no pun intended) over the forums there like he has so many times here. Likewise, for example if someone like modulusman, who has a history here of personally insulting people in the Amps and Live Sound forums over not using subs in a bar band PA system with barely a slap on the wrist, were to register and ever tried to condescend to posters at BT in the same way, he'd be bounced so fast his head would spin. I was always impressed at how civil the political discussion was over there - and we had every thing from far lefties to far righties. It was much more civilized than a lot of the wild west places of the Internet I've seen, such as 4chan and Voat.

As I said, after a year (Seprember 2015) mods were democratically chosen. We discussed problems as a team and certainly not as a clique. Not that it matters, because it's history.
The first Mods, appointed in September 2014, were also chosen democratically - members nominated and voted, Mods were elected by majority vote, with the express intent of only serving a 12 month term and not eligible for immeduate re-election. The intention was to stop Mods being too settled, powerful or biased. Pros and cons as a system, but the members appointed the Mods.

A bit off the main topic, but I feel it pertinent to mention that some of the first group over there were the reason OT here and there were so fun. Maybe OT here has livened up, but I wouldn't know. To me, the resource that the other sections here are, both archival and in members' knowledge, is unparalleled; however, it can be fairly difficult for adults who want to cut loose with non-music related fun to find a way to be themselves in a PG manner if, like me, they're just not PG people. Hence the attraction to Ed's site and the initial deluge of OT content. We did eventually blow up the other sections with plenty of bass related and music related content.

I personally will miss having an adult-language and sophomoric OT section in a bass playing community forum. I'll do my best to keep from getting under your skin, but anyone reading this post just keep in mind with regard to any posts you run across by me that I'm in the OT for laughs, not serious bidnessss... It is, after all, an internet forum. BTW, bewbs.

Guys, I don't want to filter through 9 pages. Can someone give me a quick run down on why this is a big deal?

Someone mentioned it before, but was this the forum that was started by some people who thought the TB mods were too tough?
I just want to get the story straight here.

It was TB, but with bewbs and cursing. Made up of banned TBers and those wishing to shed the shackles of Pacmans oppression......... ;)

This is what I've gleaned so far.

Yep, you've got the gist. As to why it's a big deal, I don't know, it's not imo, but people are feeling the need to review the history for their own reasons, whatever they may be. There was a decent size group of regular contributors there for an extended period of time.
