Battery powering a Phil Jones Double Four

Ok and it was the Talentcell NB7102 that failed, not the NB7101-

Here’s one- it does have over/under current protection but has a dedicated 20 volt dc (5 amp) port - that way at least you won’t have to push a button multiple times to get the right voltage in case it shuts off-

I don't want any auto shut off or protection circuit. The Lenmar battery that Phil Jones Bass recommended when I first bought the PJD4 in 2015 worked great, too bad it was discontinued. I've now gone back to the inverter and 12v motor cycle battery that I revamped recently with a lithium battery. It fits in the Arriba bag with the amp, does not shut off and lasts for hours. I even use it with my big Carvin combo MB15 and matching cabinet.

I already have a small inverter- I wonder how long it would last with a Double Four. It’s discontinued so I’ll have to look at the manual regarding the milliamp rating. Only used it once on my laptop but didn’t pay attention to the duration-
20V at 5A should be more than enough for the Double 4.

Does your inverter include a battery? Inverter by itself has no power. I also have a Powkey battery bank with a solar panel charger as an additional power source.
Yes, it’s built in and can also provide DC via USB A and C plugs.
Was doing some research on the Krisdonia when I found a review by an Amazon purchaser who had the same shutdown issues with a Spark guitar amp. He reports that the folks at Krisdonia told him to use a USB light to trick the unit to staying on and it worked. An LED light would use little currrent-
This concept should work for any other unit with the shutoff feature and I may try one of the other brands with the dedicated 20 volt ports-
Just ordered a D4 and researching the options for a battery pack. I am thinking of getting the Krisdonia which seems to work for most as it has the DC out at 19.5v and 4.7a.
I don't have a great grasp of electronics, so maybe someone who knows better can advise, but can I just get a regular powerbank at 100W and get a USB to DC converter like this?

If the powerbank supports the PD protocol, and the description should make it clear, that looks pretty good.
I've found an unexpected use for my battery powered D4 - it's great for buying/selling/trading basses. Toss it in the back, meet someone in public, plug in and check out the basses through a great sounding transparent amp.
That's what I do, but have the buyer come to my apartment building and bring the amp and bass down to the garage. Sale is made every time.
+1 using D4 buying a bass. I brought it and a battery and my own cable when I checked out a bass advertised on Craigslist. We've bought from CL listers in the past and you never know what the seller's situation will be, nor even if you will have access to power. This way I have a known, clean amp so I focus on the sound of the instrument and operation of the controls. It was great experience (and a fine bass).
Yeah I use a tiny portable katana guitar amp for this very purpose when buying or selling. Basically just to see/show that all the electronics work. With the D4 I’ll be able to use it for this purpose but also have a better idea of the actual tone of the bass.
FYI - It works perfectly! And less than half the price of the Krisdonia battery.

Nice. Thanks for letting us know. With this any PD 3.1 power bank would work. More and more, that's what we would have anyway.
