Got an extra 18v battery here and the pigtail DC connector I used for the double four came in a two pack, guess it’s time to wire up the Cali76 and use it to boost a bit (and get that sweet compression).

I boosted the input little with an MXR M76 compressor->M81 preamp->BG75 maxed out was able to (just barely) hang with a drum kit, hand percussionist, two guitars and vocals playing samba jams at a backyard party. But that was all on AC power so maybe getting off topic.

One of my Lenmar PowerPort laptop batteries would not charge anymore, so I got on Amazon and searched. I saw the Krisdonia that others have chosen, but I didn't like that you have to push the power/setup button multiple times to get to 20v each time you power on. The Lenmar has a switch to set 19v and it powers on as soon as you plug it into the Double Four.

I searched further and found this one, Talentcell NB7102, 17500mAh that looks like it sets up as soon as you use plugin to the 19v port. It's also more compact then the Krisdonia. I bought two to arrive tomorrow and will test.

I’ve been having good luck with my Ryobi drill batteries. I have a second one powering a Cali76 compressor and tempted to get my HX Stomp in the mix as well.

I Velcro the batteries to the bottom of the D4 to keep my gear as compact as possible.

I received the new batteries yesterday and installed them. (I have two D4s linked to each other.) Had to find the correct combination of adapters between a stash that I had and what was included, and had to extend the feet of one D4, the new batteries are slightly thicker than the Lenmar they replace.

They work as soon as they're plugged in, no buttons to push. Only tested them for about 20 minutes, Wednesday I'm playing with my group for 90 minutes.

Took the D4 to the park for the last of our summer jams. Got tons of compliments on the sound. It was played at 80% volume for a sold 2 hours, and the battery gauge still shows 4/5 bars. This is a "walk up and jam" and had 4 or 5 different players walk up and take it for a ride.

I've found that "hot" basses like my Boxer P/J can push quite a bit more volume through the amp. Kept up with a drummer just fine and sounded good a ways across the park.

I had to use my A/C adapter to an outside outlet, glad it was handy. I'm returning the batteries to Amazon immediately. I'm going to plug into that outlet for these backyard sessions, and if we have a gig, I'll use my Powkey powerbank, which lasts hours.

Looks like it's only capable of 3 amps at 19.5 volts. The ones I use are just enough at 4.7 amps.

I think that's the problem, they aren't good for the higher power of an amp.

Yes, but the one thing I don't like about it is every time you turn it on, you have to push the button multiple times to choose the 20v setting that works with the D4. It also has an auto shutoff if there's no load, I had a different battery that did the same and between each song when the leader was talking to the audience, it would shut off. Bad since you have to push the button multiple times to set 20v. Someone suggested keeping something else plugged in, like a small battery bank to force it to stay on.

My Double 4 works fine with the Krisdonia 25000mah battery. the battery comes with a protective sleeve. I simply made a leather carrying strap to replace the metal one so the battery fits right in.

I notice your Mackie CR-3 Monitor speakers- do you use them in conjunction with your Double Four?

I ask because I have a pair of the Bluetooth models on the way and considering purchasing a Double Four.

Battery-wise I’m considering the Krisdonia or the Talentcell NB7101 Lithium battery pack with a dedicated DC output port for 19 volts available on Amazon-

Casewise- I would probably order this PJB mode that goes for 45 USD, about 40 dollars than what Sweetwater is asking-

The leader of my uke group uses the Powkey with her Fishman tower, and it easily lasts for the 2+ hours when we play at a sandwich shop patio, I even plugin my harmonica mic to the amp. I use the Powkey when I play bass uke with my Carvin MB15 200w amp when we play large outdoor gigs.

No, the warning is for the Krisdonia, not the Talentcell. I just ordered the Talentcell, nothing is said on their listing about a cutoff.
