US: West Bay Area Winter 2019 GTG

Let's get something going. Calling all Bay Area bassists!

I'm new to the area, know very few people and would like to try and set up a venue (free of charge or donation). I am in the East Bay Area and thinking maybe Oakland or Berkeley would be ideal but this is on the suggestions and recommendations of all BA bassists.

Seems that this was done last year and looked like it was a big success.

If you all are willing to drive to Sebastopol (near Santa Rosa), I could probably rent a studio with a nice fairly large room. It would cost some $$, but we could share the expense.

I'm in from the south bay... I can travel so I can do north bay or east bay or whatever. I don't have space down here sadly, but I can chip some cash in for something if needed.

These have been a hoot in the past, and have mostly happened in the South Bay or East Bay.
Someone has to want one badly enough to do the legwork (put up some possible dates, deal with people's date preferences, decide on the final date, find a place, book the place, etc.).

Ok... I don’t think the North Bay has hosted a GTG, so I’ll start by checking with the owner of New Vintage Studio and sus out availability and cost.

I was thinking I could bring my Laptop with Ableton and check out how different basses sound in context. I'm still learning it but depending on when it is I can probably have some type of backing tracks programmed.

I was thinking 12:00-4:00. I think that I can get the studio space for $50/hr. So if we got 10 people, It’d be $20/head. We can follow up at the Crooked Goat for some beer.
