Bayou Audio Cables anyone?

I ordered a TSR cable from him. Three months later no cable, and no refund. He was very spotty on communication, but eventually I did get my money back. He was having some hard times with the economy and had to take a second job. I understand his situation just wish he would have communicated better. Butch is s good guy and makes great cables.

I was just about to order a cable from him based on the reviews in another thread. If he's having trouble delivering, maybe I'll wait until it clears up. I will say, though, that when I sent him an email asking his advice on connectors, he replied in a day.

Use: Link Removed for great cables at great prices with good service.

This guy Butch is bad news. Had same issue. Finally, had to take it up with PayPal to get money back. Really don't care what his story is. As per Vito Corleone...Nothing personal...this is just business.

This is sad, because Butch is a really nice guy who DID have a great little cable business. I did orders with him several times, the first time, my cables came in a week. The second time it took about 3 weeks. Then the bad reports started to come in. :(

For real, I've just taken to ordering from Redco and assembling them myself. Haven't had one fail, and I can source the cable and components of my choice. It's cheaper too.

That's extreme and uncalled for, IMO. I've ordered from Butch and had great experiences. I know he got a little (or a lot) slow on the draw over the last few years, but people don't just turn into "bad news". Butch is a great guy that had his share of struggles.

Agreed. Based on all the reports, I couldn't risk ordering from him again, and it's unfortunate because he is a great guy.

IIRC, he was doing this part-time out of his home. When the economy started slowing, he found a full-time job that ended his cable business. Butch is a great guy. He would send candy with your order. :hyper: Should definitely not be taking orders if he can't deliver at this time.

When I placed the order online, I received an email back stating that turnaround was about 2 weeks, and he had approx. 30 other orders to get to first. I'm not sure if this was a standard automated reply or one that he typed up in response to my order.

I live in Baton Rouge, so I may have to just stop by his place and find out myself :smug:

Shame to hear about the downturn, but that's a reality in this world. I learned to build my own using Canare cable from a place here in town. Dead silent and easy to put together (and super inexpensive).

Butch is a good guy and had no problems with him. Sometimes we need to think of others and their needs as well.

Sad. I had been looking forward to ordering cables from him and finally did this spring. Sadly, I didn't get them 'til the summer and communication was a bit sketchy. I was planning on giving Butch a 2nd chance. Everyone deserves 'em, right? But this thread is making me think twice. Hope he straightens everything out quick. :(

As you say, this is "just business". I have sympathy for a guy who's trying to make it, but that doesn't justify waiting forever with no communication.

I'd probably send Butch an email canceling my order, and then cancel with the credit card company based on non-delivery. At some point, if you want to be in business you MUST deliver the goods...and not a year after the order. If he said two weeks, then I could understand four...no more.
