BC Rich MEGATHREAD

Ripper said:
has anyone seen the double-P mockingbirds on the friend? if i had the money (not much, but i still dont have it) i'd pick one up
Eh, IMO they want way too much for the Platinum. You can find them on Ebay for around $200-$300 in excellent shape.

With that, I would save up and get a used (NOS?) NJ or a new NT series instead. I bought my NJ 'Bird with the double P's for $300 from a fellow TB'er so I know there are deals out there.

Oh, BTW, here is my 'Bird :smug: and the pic doesn't do it justice.

Still have my '82 custom Rich Wave.

Loved it for years, just don't play it much any longer.

It happens to be for sale, see the For Sale forum if you're interested, or PM me. :D

That is probably my favorite BC Rich, ever. If I had the scratch, you best believe it wouldn't be for sale.

I'm pretty sure it's no longer for sale as it looks a LOT like one of the pair of Waves my friend now owns

And whilst we're at it-here are my B.C.Riches

If anyone has a B.C.Rich bass-or Gui*** that they would kindly allow me to add to the Unofficial B.C.Rich serial number Archive, then please feel free to email me at

[email protected]

I am one of the 3 guys who compile the archive and I would love to add your basses

thanks

Lorne:-)

The Archive is not yet a website,it has been compiled for the last 4 years (For no money Lol) by myself and 3 others-I have been working on it for 2 years now-everyday

We are still at a relatively early stage with the details of over 5000 BCR's recorded

The Archive researchers are available on Neal Moser's Shredder forum

they are

NoEffinPics
Demonx
Lorne (me)

We will answer dating questions as long as the asker gives the serial number and model-this is to prevent people asking for details of a bass serialed 12345 and expecting a full description

The reason we do this is to prevent unscrupulous people making forgeries

ONLY the 3 researchers have access to the Archive-NO_ONE else

a typical description of an entry in the archive is this

I am based in Devon U.K.
another researcher is in Australia
the other is in the U.S.A.

FLKnifemaker on this site knows of me-I have his beautiful Eagle's details recorded

Any other questions anyone has, please feel free to email me

Lorne, you're breaking my heart with those pictures.

I had a Rich Bitch 8 string bass that looked exactly like the one in the pics. My wife got it for me from their custom shop with her inheritance from her grandmother. Koa wood with a maple neck. Active electronics that provided a buzzy kind of overdrive. It took me hundreds of hours to learn to play it properly; to use all that it had to give.

I played it for years (from 80 to 87) four nights a week. Then it was stolen during a publicity shoot.

I was like a madman for months. I wouldn't leave the stage ungaurded during a break. I'd spent so much time with it, it wasn't like it was just a "thing". I've had so many things stolen; motorcycles, cars, household appliances. It seems the instruments are different. I also had a Yamaha bass and a Saxaphone stolen.

If I ever found the guy that stole that Bitch bass, he'd be a long time dying.

what a labor of love!

I can understand; of all my basses, my old BC Rich is my first love

Ok,for those who asked, here are more pictures of my current Bich

I made some alterations to the bass,as I hated the bridge,so on went a badass 1 and some 1970's era knobs and covers

IHOPETHISHOLDSIT.jpg

Here are a pair of 1979 Bich 8 strings I stupidly sold in 1992,I know where they both are today and have first dibs on both of them, should they come up for sale

Here is my current 1985 Bich Supreme (1 of only 20 made) with one of the 2 I sold,Picture taken last year-supreme on the left

To the guy who had his stolen,if you can remember the serial number and have a picture,I can see if we have it on the Archive and also put it in my stolen pile,In case it ever turns up

Lorne:-)

Here's a bass I found for a friend,he bought this,and it's one of only 7 ever made

Wow! richnota - that Koa Eagle is mighty fine indeed. I was looking for an all-Koa one for some time but they're getting pretty hard to come across these days. I managed to grab this one when it came up: '78 Koa neck-thru with mild Bird'seye wings. Plays and sounds great.
