In 1980, I bought an 1980 Eagle from Willcutt Guitars in Lexington, Ky. I paid $1000 for it- I have no idea if that was a ripoff or not, but it does seem pretty high to me still. What was a typical price for Eagles?

It had a birdseye maple top.. just an unreal pretty bass. I've always been partial to the Eagle body.

Great tones from the switches and circuitry. The double-P pickups were DiMarzios, if memory serves.

Needing money when I went back to college, I sold it in 1982 to some outfit called Red Bank Guitars in Red Bank, NJ- I had seen their ad in Guitar Player and gave them a call. They gladly took it off my hands for $750.

I'd give anything to have that bass back again!!

i totally dig his stuff. In the near future i think i might get myself one of these Link Removed
and depending on the tone possibly augmenting it with some SD quarter pounders!

or, i might get some warmoth parts and assembly my own Warlock. Alder, gloss black, with quarter pounders and a satin finished maple neck, proly the warmoth shape. OR. Black korina body, Invalid Link Removed that finish, and then same as the other.

mind you, a solid wenge neck would also be killer:)

or, if i had the cash, prolly a BCR custom.

wow, i need cash...

On another sidetrack :) I have a Genesis guitar arriving in the next week or so. I can't WAIT to play it!! I'm on the list for a bass as well.

I contacted the Admin and he told me that it would be back up but not very soon. They are redoing the whole board for some reason or another.

Why they didn't leave the existing board up while they constructed the new one just baffles me. :confused: :help:

yeah, no kiddin'...i've got a thread (had?) on there that had the email address for one of the guys in the custom shop, and the emails between me and him are all on my computer at work...sucks...i gotta wait until i go back to work to get in touch with him...i'm ordering that ignitor next month ;)

I dig on the Mockingbird and Wave shapes. The problem is that the come with either the Widow or that 2+2 headstock...neither of which gel with the shape. The Ignitor might work with the Widow, but I'd rather do the reverse 4 they have if I was going to get an Ignitor.

I'd like a 2+2 that's a little more angular. The 2+2 is so blocky, it just doesn't look right, and the Widow? Eh, too much for me.

That Moser SSB headstock would be perfect for those two shapes. If I could get those on a Mockingbird or Wave, I'd totally be into one.
