Ya, I thought the same thing, but he says he can get a full range sound in the PA by micing those two. Go figure.
The cabs are different because he had them made at different times, so they weren't consistent about it.
To me it's beautiful. No matter how I set it up. I usually have it horizontal when I practice, and stacked when I gig live.

Finally got to gig with the DB 115 stack last night. Powered it with my Demeter/Crown rig. Band loved it. I loved it. Sound seemed to get stronger the farther away I moved from the stage. Cool. Downside is...moving around two 71 lb cabs ain't for the ultralight crowd.

No, I just use the controls on my LMII. I'm also going to make an outboard passive tone control.
How different is the effect of the VLE control from a passive tone control?
It seems to be a little more even of a treble cut around the dial, otherwise not much.
Using a high quality cap like the orange drop, I find the orange drop much more pleasing tonally. Of course that is totally subjective, but I was surprised how much a good quality cap sounds so much better than a cheapo. Its worth the effort IMO.
I've been wanting to post my rig for a while. I've had to move my stuff out of my practice room as my in-laws are visiting.
It's an all Australian-made rig:
Labsystems 4x10 and 1x15. The 4x10 weighs a ton, but the 1x15 is OK. I've not owned any other speakers, but my teacher swapped his 4x10 for a Bergantino one, and misses the Labsystems.
I've heard Labsystems aren't trading any more; don't know if it's true, but if so it's a shame as they seem to produce good stuff.
Proaudio BH400; bought from Pro-Audio supplies. I really like this amp, and although I'm buying a tube preamp/power rack set up I've compared it with other one box head equipment, and just like it better so have never felt the need to change.
