I still don't understand why Greg bought the Stash when for basically the same money you could have had a TFR or a SUF Civil War. Ok $10 more...
That's kind of what I was thinking. I saw a rig rundown on (don't laugh) Gene Simmons' rig, and I really like how the tech had the compressor in the rack drawer. Set it up, leave it on, tuck it away.

I remember having an Art SGX Nightbass multieffect and a power amp, in a rack over two 4x10 cabinets ... lots of tweaking, lots to carry and I don't think I ever managed to get a good sound. MIDI floorboard to select patches. The MIDI gear is coming back, but now in a better form with the SA pedals.
There are relatively cheap midi solutions now too. I hd a disaster area midi looper I used at some point. The Smart Looper. All I needed was a small midi foot controller and I could turn loops on and off. Some amps and rack units have that too for either loops or effects send/return. You can get pretty functional without spending a lot.
You can always get an Axe-FX too if you want

Okay, so one of my earliest boards (no actual board) was a Boss TU-2 > Boss Bass Overdrive > Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble > Big Muff Pi (3003A) > DOD FX20-B Phasor. There was briefly a Moogerfooger Lowpass Filter and expression pedal in there at one point, but I never sorted out how to use it.

There are definitely issues. That's why we have buffers
Shu is right on it there. The more things you put between your bass and amp, the more likely you are to have issues with noise or failure. That's why we can have conversations about patch cables, buffers and power supplies till the cows come home. Once you get past the 7 or 8 pedal mark, you start having to worry about things like buffers and the like. I never thought about that stuff till I joined TB.
Hell, I never really heard of buffers, didn't think power supplies were that important nor patch cables. All these things if taken the time to sort them out nicely and a little extra care and money, you can make a really sweet board.

I've always been a gearhead, though I can't find any really early pictures ... I had a bit of a rack period, then an EBS period that was before it really took off after reading too many posts in the TB effects forum

Thank u. Its a rehearsal space I rent. Itss about 12 x 16. 24hr access. No noise issues. I love it. Full PA set up. I'll post more pics when I get home
I'll definitely post pics, thanks for the support, but id probably have to turn in my breeder card....not that I really want to...for me its an issue of practicality, my main gig's set list doesn't have any call for anything beyond compression, light overdrive, chorus for one song, and my B7K.....
I love ALL of my pedals... I might resort to 2 different boards still, or not...for my new side gig(power/thrash metal) I wont have room on most stages they play...plus I got the GK 800RB that sounds perfect for the metal band, so the role of my B7K for that *might* change depending on which group/rig...
Who knows....i still love having different tonal options so I could do what I did years ago and place the pedalboard on top of my rig(it would have to be smaller for sure then).....
Oh man, I remember renting a 24 hour jam space about 15 years ago, I actually lived in mine while I was in college.... My new side gig they rent a pay-per- hour one in Honolulu, its $12.50 an hour(that adds up), it has a full backline/drumset, but the employee guy asked me both times "your not gonna run distortion are you??"..
I mean the bass rig is a 400RB but still, his rules, kinda stupid though!!

Lol. Mine is 400 a month but until I rebuild the old garage out behind the old house my gf talked me into buying and restoring I don't have anywhere to put my gear. We demod every room. Almost finished. The garage is next witha 20 x 20 music room!!!!
