Before and After

If I recall correctly, this was my first "board":

toneworx.jpg

I didn't like the user interface, to change a parameter is a PITA. I like the directness of spinning a potentiometer.

I wanted a proper board, and not knowing any better I went for a deal on a Warwick Rockboard-something-other. A self-powered board made of plastic that degrades and then breaks and chips... I bought a few more pedals on sale. A Korg delay, a Boss Chorus, Wonder Wah II, Punch Factory and Bass Xciter. A few more odds n sodds over time.

Then I started to gig.
The Warwick was too fragile and too big for my gig needs, and up to then was mostly hidden under the couch gathering dust anyway. I got a deal on a PT Mini after not finding a cool something-other like a skateboard etc to make a pedalboard out of. Finally got a dedicated dirt pedal, The Elements, and have collected a few other deals here and there.

I haven't taken any pics, 'cause I wanted to 'finish' my board first, but I was never satisfied and learned that a board is never finished...

So here's my current jumble of pedals (pic already posted in the Breeder thread), nothing set up properly in the pic, was going to re-do everah ting:

Clockwise from upper left: That's the Warwick upper left, to the right of it a purple computer stand with a Zoom Guitar MFX, Korg guitar MFX and the Korg AX1B. Below the purple computer stand is my PT-Mini, and lastly my cardboard.

In retrospect, I wish I'd taken more photos. Will do so in future.

Nice, I play standup bass as well, didn't know you did!!

I swear I've done this on this site before? I know I have on ILF. Oh well. lol

Very first pedal board. LOL

It's sitting on some cd cases. These were my first two pedals ever, well for bass at least. :)

I'm going through changes....haha

First actual board. This picture and the previous had about 25 pedal flips in between. I saved a lot of pictures. hahaha

There I saved you about a hundred pictures and I kid you not, probably over 200 pedals flips. hahahah

I think I've been breeding as long as I've been playing...

First a boss metal zone, then a chorus ensemble a dd3 & a wah all at once.

Sold all that (actually my bud still has the metal zone!), got a Line6 Flextone II XL. Added a MM4 in stereo to that. I was recording in stereo in 2000 from this rig and it sounded awesome.

Sold all that went to Tubes. Also bought a Boss ME-50 because I was sick of the set-up tear down bs. Bought a Marshall power break and a Boss EQ pedal.

Then I found Analogman. Bought a TS9DX silver & mode mods, then it got bad. Sold the EQ & ME-50, built a homemade board and a pedal a week for a couple years. Flipping and testing. I will dig out those old pics from then when I'm on the PC later...

I've been through a stoopid amount of pedals & gear and somehow haven't lost much cash doing so... I have lost time practicing being obsessed about sound tho.

These forums have always been a decent reference for gear experiences, they even helped guitar gear choices. Since joining, not much has changed tho... Lurking was worse lol!!!

I love the shot of your board with all your spares stacked in top. I think we all have a deconstructed shot.
