Before and After

My first board was a bunch of Boss pedals (ODB-3, Chorus, Tuner, flanger and compressor) + a Q-tron + a Bassdrive

This is the only pic I found of it, first studio session... The T-Rex Squeezer, Xotic and Tonebender were the studio's:

first_board.jpg

After that I discovered Talkbass.

And then I went a bit crazy (same pedalboard frame as above):

board.jpg

It was basically impossible to move around and the George Ls kept dying :p

So then I switched to a PT-JR which went through lots and lots of modifications... this is the current one:

Obviously I'm not taking pics of my shelves...

Next iteration is forseen for the summer ;) Bass Whammy, Nano POG, Woodchipper, Blower Box, SUF Civil War, DOD Boneshaker, hmmm..............

Two pictures featuring the SFX Micro Boost so far. It's like that thing is taunting me! I want my SFX custom di with boost so much now!!!!!

My FIRST pedalboard (a) was less a board than a duffel bag of loose pedals, 9V and patch cables and (b) slightly predates Talkbass.

In my teens I started with just a Boss Multi before eventually buying an OC-2. Then I added an old MXR filter (and when that crapped out a DOD FX25), a Roland AP-5, an old Big Muff and a Boss Slow Gear. I don't remember what came and went after that. A couple years after college I took a break from gigging for a few years and when I started up again I found TB. I think my first or second thread was asking for advice to build up a new pedalboard.

Here's the oldest photo I could find of when I started back down the effects junkie road:

A year or so later it was completely redone:

About a year after that: (this one was more dub oriented and is still one of my absolute favorite boards)

I went through PT-Mini stage:

Funk Rock mini board (in the middle)

Then I went back to a big board and went full on synthy:

Now?

I've got a little rock/practice PT Mini with a Volto and
  • Turbo Tuner
  • Custom JohnK Foundry Overdrive
  • Tall Font Russian
  • Ditto Looper
  • Enabler
And a PT-2 with a PP2+ and
  • Polytune
  • Octabvre
  • Brown Dog
  • Bug Crusher
  • Prunes & Custard
  • Grizzly Bass
  • Xerograph
  • Keeley Bassist
  • Bad Stone
  • Dispatch Master
  • Modded VP-jr expression pedal (for the Xero)
with a bunch of other pedals (Pigtronix Envelope Phaser, Gilamondo, Filter Twin, Tremolessence, Empress Tremolo, TC Shaker, LS-2, Wonderlove etc) lying around

But I'm starting to think hard about just paring down to a PT-mini. Hmm.

Nice, I play standup bass as well, didn't know you did!!
Upright's all I get to gig. I've played one gig with bass guitar and I was horrible: it was playing Christmas carols while wandering around a shopping mall dressed as an elf. [*sigh*] Hope to find a project where I get to gig on slab once I can play it better.

Love running the DB through the board, but filling up the Warwick board's what lead me to getting the Jaguars and taking up ebass. Rotsa Fun!

When I get better organised I'll post clips of the DB through the board(s).

I'm down! All of them on at once???? LOL

That's ah great idea, eh, all at once! But it might 'cause a lot of them whatchamacallit ... unpleasant noises, y'know, some squeeeeling. Still tho' that could be fun, you betcha! Sure, yeah eh. I'm warmin' t'th' idear like a spring thaw on th' ol' crik. Watch out for thin ice eh? Hah! So maybe we do this regular like, we could post them little cloud thingamajiggies with sounds, the squeeeeelingss – like a suckling pig to its ma's teet, 'n', 'n' 'n' do it every Satyrday eh? El-oh-eL, we'll call it "Squeeling Satyrdaze!" Whatcha think'bout them apple-puppies?

I really dig that Jr./mini combo!! Eventually I wanna try something like that, just have to figure out how to split mine up where I'm not missing anything....

Oh snap!!! just got inspired...i could make a funk/variety board for pop gigs and a smaller one for my new metal project!!:)

That was the plan with the PT-2+Pro combo. I would have everything needed on either. Now, I have two boards I need :)

But, seriously, I am toying with the idea of taking all the SA stuff off my PT-Pro, adding another H9, making the PT-pro completely self sufficient and doing the same with the PT-2 with all the SA stuff on it.

i wish i had a before and after picture. i only have three pedals. i think i have a pic when i had two pedals, but you could imagine my wah not being their and their you'd have it. i haven't gotten to the point of swapping my pedals. i'm still trying to different types of effects.

I'd really like to see a before and after of yours as well. You had great board going at one time. Then you sold it all!! Damn bills.
