Behringer Bass V-AMP Pro - Part II: Get On Back, Jack, Do It Again...

Hey guys hope you don't mind me gatecrashing this this thread again! I just realised something, or am failing to realise, whether this will work or not. I have an audio interface arriving tomorrow and assumed that Ill be able to hook the amp up into the interface to access the editor (the midi-out from the amp and into the midi-in on the interface). However, I remember somewhere along the line someone mentioning a midi-usb connection, I've been slowly working my way through the thread and I'm at around page 30. As I mentioned this is arriving tomorrow so if I need this midi-usb I'd like to order it asap.

Or... can I go midi-out on the V-Amp and into the midi-in on the interface? Reading it now it seems pretty self explanatory lol but I'm fairly new to midi and various problems can arise, so eliminate them before hand!

Rule #1: Be sure to connect both MIDI OUT and MIDI IN on the V-AMP to your interface device

I posted this idea a few months ago. I never made the live rig with the Behringer. I liked the V-AMP way too much in the studio. :D

Now... I joined another band. So I could use another rig, as I HATE hauling gear. So I'm going to team the V-AMP up with a Crest power amp I have laying around this weekend...

This means I have to miss the V-AMP in the studio.... and I'll probably on the market for a 2nd V-AMP. :D

Hi all,

I might buy the V-amp (without the pro). But I couldn’t figure out how to use the loop function. Do I have to buy a midi controller? It sounded a little expensive to me and also I don’t know anything about midi’s. Isn’t it possible to just control it with the included pedals?

the included pedal only switches the presets up or down.

The bean version comes with a footswitch, the rack version without.

The rack version has got the following additional features:
- Stereo XLR output
- AES/EBU and SPDIF digital output
- ULTRA-G speaker simulation on the XLR outputs (in L3 Mode)

In L3 mode the headphone is assigned differently, on the bean version the left side is with cab simulation, the right side without, which makes the headphone pretty useless on L3 Mode.
On the rack version both sides of the headphone are with ULTRA-G cab sim in L3 mode.

The bean version comes with an external power supply, the rack version has an internal power supply.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

The bean version also has an Aux input for a mp3/iPod player where the rack version doesn't. Why? I don't know, it should have.

Hi,
I recently got the v-amp bean version on ebay for $65. It was in great condition and given the enthusiasm for it over here, seems like I'm going to have fun with it. One question, I also recently purchased the GK MB 210 combo. The amp section does not have an effects loop or a power amp in jack. It does have the aux in jack which is a 1/8 inch input. Should I use that, or should I just go into the active or passive input of the amp with the tone controls set at 12:00?

As a full on lurker of this thread, I will do my best to answer. You should use either active or passive inputs on the amp, but note that if you use the preamp on the VAMP then you will be going through two preamps which will shape your sound in ways that are not intended. I run mine through a Fender rumble and have to deal with the same situation.

I can get good sounds, but I am scanning TB's classifieds to put together a more appropriate rig.
