Ben Affleck to play Batman

It's irritating for casual fans like me. Every time I turn on one of these movies, it is a different guy. I wear my emotions on my sleeve and get sucked in emotionally to movies pretty quick. I like the people who play the roles. As someone already said, keep the consistency please. It makes the movies more appealing for people like me to watch.

I don't have an issue with Ben Affleck playing the role. I am sure he will do a fine job. I just don't like the changing.

This is my thought as well. You have to think that given the amount of people they auditioned for the role that they must have saw something in Affleck to give him the nod.

Personally, I have no idea what that "something" is, but I trust they will make it work.

I don't mind Ben Affleck as Batman, but I'm kind of annoyed that we're at the point where we can reboot a character or series literally the moment the previous trilogy/series/whatever ends. I mean, I like Batman, but can't we do something else? I'm not even saying the movie will be bad or anything, I just find the rapid recycling of a handful of ideas tiresome.

Why not try a Batman miniseries on HBO or something? That'd be pretty cool. Maybe it'd provide a chance to explore more of the 'detective' side of the character.

But this is a hopeless complaint. The industry demands that this be done, and the market shows they will pay for it. Just my $.02

I wasnt interested in seeing Man of Steel, and Im even less interested in seeing its sequel.

Yeah, I skipped that one. I'm already not very interested in Superman, but it seemed like a recipe for public napping to put him in a movie with a gritty, serious tone. Call me when he's back to rushing to a phone booth to change into his superhero uniform again :p

When you think about the CB batman, Ben might not be that far off the mark. The print batman was an extroverted rich boy with a dark, moody alter ego. For years Affleck he was your typical Hollywood extrovert in public but was an unhappy alcoholic in private so he's well versed in how to do the personality flip flop better than most. Let's hope it comes through in this role, otherwise it could be as bad as Clooney's turn in the black leotard.

Norton was fired for being too difficult to work with during filming. He may be one of my favorite actors but apparently he's a control freak behind the camera and they didn't want to risk clashes with the rest of the actors and crew.

As for Affleck being Batman, I'll wait to pass judgement until I see the trailer. I thought he did a good job in The Town and Argo but for the time being I'm telling myself they could have done much worse.

I'm tired of comic book movies.

There have been few good ones.

The first two Superman films weren't bad
The first Keaton Batman was great
The first two Spiderman were tolerable
A few others have been OK
A lot of them were sheer garbage, and just as bad as the drek they put on TV in the 70's; less cheesy, but 10x more dependent on CGI.

Batman, Superman, and the "main" comic book characters are played out. I watched the first Superman reboot, and fell asleep.
