Ben Affleck to play Batman

What about Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Batman? Especially if they want someone older and more experienced looking. Plus, Morgan is slightly taller than Cavill, at 6' 2" to Cavill's 6' 1", and a physically imposing guy.

I generally like a lot of the comic movies, at least as popcorn flicks anyway. Watchmen is probably my favorite because it was true to it's origins. Morgan was good as The Comedian, you had to hate him for being such a scumbag masquerading as a hero.

I won't say that I think Ben will be horrible, but it will take an open mind going in.

Why don't they bring in someone who can actually fight and not these retread A-list Hollywood actors?? This is what annoys me the most! Ryan Reynolds? How many comic book characters does he need to have? Sheesh!

He was an absurdly poor casting decision for The Green Lantern. His personality and general schtick about him makes me think he's going to be a much better Deadpool.

As for Affleck being Batman, I'll wait to pass judgement until I see the trailer. I thought he did a good job in The Town and Argo but for the time being I'm telling myself they could have done much worse.

My thoughts exactly. I know everyone has said it as well, but the Heath Ledger as the Joker example is a pretty good reference to make. Not to mention, Michael Keaton as Batman was a gutsy move back then as well. The Mr Mom jokes were supposedly flying all over the place before it was released.

Not to knock Bale, but I think Ben has just as good, if not more so, the look that is really appropriate for Bruce Wayne. He doesn't come off as the kind of guy who seems like much more than a face in a suit carrying lots of money. How he carries himself in the Batsuit will be nothing more than speculation from all of us. I think the guy at least deserves a chance. With the movies everyone has cited, it seems he has expanded himself as an actor past what we've all got engrained in our minds. If he does well enough, I'd like to see him pick up a new series of Batman movies so we can get more of the villains we wanted to see in some of the movies. Penguin, The Riddler, Hugo Strange, Mad Hatter, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy would all be great villains to see come to the big screen. All would be pretty feasible in the more realistic, Nolan-style Batman universe.

To all the people that hate casting changes...can we PLEASE get the people making all these casting changes to give freakin Hugh Jackman the boot and get ANYONE ELSE to play Wolverine for once? The guy is technically too tall to play him (Logan was not near as tall as Hugh) and I've yet to see a good one with him in it. :smug:
