Ben Affleck to play Batman

No disagrement from me. The X-Men movies were all kind of boring to me. They could have been much better cast.
And written. No one could have played those characters well with how badly everything was written. If you haven't seen Jackman in the new "The Wolverine," I would suggest you consider it. He's not the perfect Wolverine still, but much better than in past movies. For his cameo in X-Men First class he actually nails it, though.

No doubt.

I saw the first Wolverine movie. No intentions on seeing another after that atrocity.

That was sooooo like 15 posts ago

:hiding:

:D

First funny thing: slo even quoted your post with the link

Second funny thing: Having been the first person to bring it up in the thread, I had also made a post saying "that was brought up twice on the last page" but then deleted it.

Looks like slo's article is stating its only "in talks" at this point, no confirmation.

That's me having a slower than usual evening then!

I certainly hope they do cast him, not aware of him being included in any other big projects and with Breaking Bad winding up (well, his part in it will have been wound up already), it'd be awesome seeing him getting another big role.

Another note - 6 movies? 6 whole superman movies? Really?! :hiding:

One of the articles said he may sign on for up to 10, I believe.

I dont think we'll end up with that many. 6 is far too many already.

I'm glad I'm a Punisher fan. They only managed to mess him up 3 times.......

Punisher fan here, I like the Thomas Jane version most, even if it does drift from the story. The two most recent movies (let's not talk about the 80's...) certainly seemed to be more in line with the Marvel Knights/Max/Dark Horse type Punisher, which is probably easier to try and pull off than the old school Marvel version.

Wish they'd made a sequel to the Jane version, with John Travolta returning as Jigsaw (while not sharing the name, I always thought Howard Saint was going to be a movie analogue to Billy Russo).

10? That's beyond sillyness!

Punisher: War Zone was my favourite of the Punisher movies. I wish the studio had gone with Kurt Sutter's script for the movie though, as I really enjoyed his writing on The Shield and I think he would have written a suitably dark and gritty version of the Punisher.

Right there with you, but saw it anyway...and I admit it was pretty good, save for the obvious lame-o twist at the end everyone saw a year prior.

As for that last **** origins movie...how they screwed up DeadPool is unforgivable. Meltyface Ryan Reynolds? (Shudder)

I'm wondering how they are going to represent Deadpool in the Deadpool movie (also Ryan Reynolds).

I dare say the meltface could work, I don't think you ever see Deadpool without the mask in the comics? I hope it's fairly insane with randomly changing scenery and generally out-there views from the perspective of Deadpool himself (as well as a total shattering of the 4th wall).

Every super hero flick should strive to be as good as Watchmen. Now THAT was a comic movie done right.

I recently got to see the animated version of Dark Night Returns with Peter Weller voicing Batman. I have to say, it was pretty dead on. It more or less just animated the comic page for page, retaining Klaus Jansen's drawing style. I was very impressed. It captured the dark tone of the story perfectly, although some of it is lost in translation on film, which is inevitable.

I love the Deadpool character, but Ryan Reynolds does not have what it takes to pull the character off. He does not even look like he'd enjoy a chimichanga.
