Benavente 7 string fretless custom build pics!

well here's my train of thought... there are tons of guys on here who are perfectly happy just playing 4 and 5 string fender P's and J's. I'm about to get two $4k-$5k basses in a row. some people could never dream of that.

I probably will want a new bass hear or there in the future, but not for a long time

Well no offense Jason, but it's the money that will be a problem for most people ;) I can't imagen that there would be even one musician that doesn't want a custom build instrument for him / her. Dreaming is easy, making it realistic is something else ;)

Haha, it's easy to look old when most of the photo is a beard and you scrunch your face up. Here's a pic of me hopefully not looking that old =p

If you look up 7 string acoustic on youtube there are actually lots of people who've been playing them for quite some time

There are some. I don't know if I'd call it a lot. I mostly ordered the acoustic as a 7 because I had been listening to some harp guitar players and thought adding the 7th string was a little more practical.

I don't really play metal, so the amount of non-metal 7 string playing is a little more on the rare side. The 7 string jazz guitar actually dates back to the 1930s with Van Epps.

I approach the 7 string guitar a lot more like a bassist would approach the low B string. I use it for position playing, transposing, and some lower register work.

Thankyou very much for your reply, Jason! Ordering the fretted double-cut to accompany it sounds like a great idea - you will have your own complete set-up then, and a very original and beautiful one it will be too!

Do you have any idea of a possible completion date for the current one?

And I just wanted to add, for Spade2You, that this guitar looks so elegant and so perfect... Enjoy it when it comes!

I also have this Greg German 7 string hollow body on layaway.
