Man this cab has got me all GASsy but I am sure not sure I need it. The AE410 is just a killer cab and when I use that I almost always have FOH support. Almost always on hollow risers as well. So do I really need the extra low end? Are there any AE410 users that have tried the AE212 that didn't switch?
Well, I surely didn't 'switch'. The AE212 replaced my Epi 410UL, not my AE410.
They are different sounding cabs though, and it would be hard to not have a favorite. The AE212 won't do that grindy upper mid 'in your face' thing as well as the AE410, and the AE410 won't do the wider smoother thing as well.
However, as you might be able to hear on my comparison, I could get each cab to sound surprisingly close to one another by varying the EQ at around 250hz and around 1K or so if you have two bands of semi-parametric EQ (or fixed EQ voiced close to those center points).
