Bergantino AE212 - Just Released

+1 All good sounding stuff. The cab can really make use of the wider voicing of punch of heads like the F500, the 9, the GK MB500, etc., and having a bit more power is of course, never a bad thing! Yes, the F500 significantly outperforms the LMII with this cab... louder, tighter, punchier, brighter, more articulate.

I'd like to hear that. My guess is, the AE410 would be a better match-up for that, given the lack of lower mid control on that head nad the really big low end. That one is a little bit 'too much of a good thing' with a cab that has a very wide, even low end like the AE212. However, just guessing from my experience with that head and other cabs. With the AE410... good to go with that one though!

Just so you don't put him down by launching one of the 12's out of the front of the cab through the grill. The Shuttle 9 is one thing... the M9 is a WHOLE OTHER THING as you know.:D Amazing head. If I ever went 'full sized' again, that would be the one.

That's actually an interesting idea... put some flour packs in the cones of some cheap 12's, load the cab up, turn everything up all the way (turn it up to "11"), aim the cab (grill removed) at the guitar player, and hit a low B as hard as you can. That'll powder him up nicely... ;) :D :D

Oh no, not an AE212. That would be a deadly blast. We wouldn't want to actually hurt the guy (would we? ;)). I was thinking something cheap like you can get from those guys in the white vans driving around selling speakers. That would be perfect! :ninja:

For Shuttle 9.0/ Bergantino AE212 owners, you guys should try these settings and see what you think:

Berg AE212
Tweeter @ noon

Shuttle 9.0
Bass at 1 o'clock
Mids Flat
Treble at 11 o'clock
LF Boost on
Mid Scoop off
HF Attack on

This is just deep and punchy, with a top end grind that doesn't ping at all. It sounds wonderful. I think cutting the highs mostly above 4k and then adding the HF attack from 2-6k (according to the manual) places a nice bump in that 2-4 khz range. Lot's of slinky string winding to season the tone. It sounds wonderful with a jazz bass and my Lakland 44/55's, and AE212 just spits it right out. Man I'm loving this cab more ever minute.

I picked up my AE212 this morning from Juan at Bass and Beyond who has triumphantly resumed his residence in the greater Sacramento area! Thanks Juan.

Anyway got the boxed up AE212 in the back of my Mini Cooper S by folding down both seats with ease. Then before I ever plugged it in I unboxed and made sure it fit with one seat folded down and it does!!! Kudo's to Bergantino for exposing the handles with the cover on. It really helps slide the cabinet in and out easier.

I've got a Shuttle 9.0 on the way but I did plug it into my Shuttle 3.0 and even without it being broken in (I am very familiar with the massive difference a few hours play time makes from my hi-fi interests) it so far is exactly what I have hoped for. My favorite rig in recent years has been GASP! and SWR Redhead but this thing with the GB head will probably eclipse that, save a good 30 lbs and get a hell of a lot louder!

Anyway I'm looking forward to hearing it with the more powerful head but my little Shuttle 3.0 at 300 watts was quite a voice to be heard. Both my P bass and Stingray really sing and I've not been super happy with my P-bass recently but I can tell it will be getting another chance with this set up.

Thanks to all for your painfully detailed explanations. I'm really excited about this rig.
