Good ear gl. Jim wanted to make the drives more "unity" when toggling them on and off.
I also like the more subtle O/D in the new 5.12 firmware, with 5.11 I had to go with the (B)-Version of the firmware because the O/D started out to heavy for me even on 1. Now it´s great - but I have to bring up the volume to 10/11 to match the clean tone and that is too loud when switching to the other effects... The volume is one for all distortions, isn´t it?

It is the same volume controls for all three effects. However, don't forget you can store up to three scenes (including the home screen) and 4 with the pedal, such that you can adjust each effects' volumes independently relative to one another and save it into a memory location. Then just recall the memory where the effect you want is stored and it will automatically load your volume settings back into the appropriate locations of the DSP with that particular effect. My observations on 5.12: I'm not seeing much effect level changes from 5.11 to 5.12. Both O/D and DIST still only set at 1 or 2 for plenty of effect. Output still set around 8 for unity gain, effect on/off. (I do have the input trim set correctly.)
Just a product development thought: I find I use my B/Amp only as a pre-amp going direct to the house, no cabinet. I love the tone shaping and other useful features like the tuner, high pass filters etc. What might be cool is for a Bergantino pre-amp only version of this B/Amp. Not sure if there is a market for that, but I would definitely get one. I wonder if you could cram a lot of the B/Amp into a large DI Box or one-space rack? Just the firmware updating feature makes this a great deal.
I don't know how to use the compressor. I just don't hear much of a difference in sound. I want my Aux to be full control compressor.
Have you used it in the context of a full band playing situation? Compressors are tougher to hear working when playing solo. Also, if you have a light touch you may not be triggering the compressor. If you want to hear it working, slap can usually trigger it and make a more pronounced difference.
I find myself more and more loving the Bamp. Especially since I only have Bergantino cabs. But more and more, I find myself enjoying the Bamp. In fact so much, I've started selling all of my other amps. Now I'm only down to 5 amps. But more and more I see my Bamp being grabbed to take out and play.
Would it be out of order to ask for an update that provides accuracy for the tuner on the bamp? Maybe it's just me, but when I tune using the bamp tuner, I find that my strings aren't completely tuned. While playing, my bass still sounds slightly out of tune.
I also think that the tuner could be more accurat. Everything else is just perfect for my needs !
My tuner is very accurate, while I do think some attention may be given to the display to make it more modern to interpret amount it's off. it's good here.
I also find that it's not as quite accurate as the tuner on my Zoom B3 or my TC RH450 head. Minor, but still there. In fact the tuner is the only minor issue I have with my B|Amp, along with the difficulty to see when its approximation of tuning is achieved. Wouldn't it be great if the green function light came on as well!
@Jim Bergantino Hi Jim, would it be an easy modification to increase the upper limit of the VHPF to ~120Hz? Thanks in advance and still loving the B|amp!
