Bergantino NV158? ???

Wish I could have helped you with the Monique.. I sold mine alittle while ago, great preamp though... After trying the Mesa Walkabout with the cab, I want to check out a M-Pulse 600 with it... I really liked the Streamliner 900 with it last week and I'm going to use that tomorrow night as well.. I want to try out a few different setings on the amp...

Any of you guys on the inside beta testing ever suggest to Bergantino adding the big horn back to the cabs. I still have an HT210s that I love and I think the horn has a lot to do with it. I am thinking the NV158 with that horn would sound amazing.

That horn was just a 'waveguide' or whatever to spread the high frequencies around a bit. The HT cabs used a very high end tweeter (I believe made by B&C) that is no longer available. That is why the final HT cab (the HT112ER) was discontinued.

That tweeter really did extend up to the sizzle area and gave the HT's a very modern hi fi sort of vibe. Not my thing personally, but many loved them. I actually like the more relaxed and (IMO) integrated current crossover and tweeter in the HD's and CN's (more even transition, to my ear, from the top of the driver/upper mids to the top end, which is a bit warmer sounding and 'natural', again IMO and IME).

However, those HT cabs were unique up top for sure, and I can sure see why some dig them.

That would explain it. Yep, there is something about that cab. I used my bag end cab a lot. But, every time I plug in that HT I just hear something different. I just know there's something about it. It will likely remain in the collection for a long time. Plus, it's a 4 ohm box. So, I use all of the power of my little Walter. :hyper:

What's the highest wattage you've run through it? My big Walter pushes 800 watts at 8 ohms. I wouldn't mind another single cab solution for louder gigs. But, I'm too old to lug around a refrigerator.

When I brought out to Tom Bowlus, we tried an Aguilar 750 and Mesa Titan V-12 and it handled them no problem.. I've been using them on gigs with Genz Benz ShuttleMax 9.2 and the Streamliner 900 and even though they state 450 watts@ 8 ohms, I'm pretty sure thats a very liberal rating... I loved the cab with a Mesa Walkabout and I'm looking for a M-Pulse 600 to check the cabs out with...:hyper:

Those horns work great for PA use, as well. In fact, I just got done setting up the "Berg PA" for tonight's gig. I have two stacks, each, with a custom Berg 1x15 sub, HT310 and HT210 (or sometimes HT115's, instead). :bassist: :bassist: :bassist:
