Bergantino NV158? ???

then consider this my formal public request!
hear ye! hear ye! all you nv115 buying mofos!
send your unwanted NV215s thisaway!!

Mine might go up soon....it has a brand new custom road case built around it.....you know me and my gear...let's keep in touch. My NV215 sounds awesome......you got my NV412

I can do most of those. Actually, all of them except for the Bassman 100. Problem is, not all of my gear is in the same location. Still, I already have some of those set up in my basement and ready to go for tomorrow. Got a nice set of comparison cabs ready to go, as well.

I'd be interested in how these sound with the SVT-7Pro.

Love to be able to check them out with the Demeter/Jule Amps DeMonique!

When the Baer Valkyrie comes out, that should be a great mate for these as well (I'd think).

Hey Tom, was there any grit or growl to the sound or was it very clean?

With clean heads, it sounded pretty clean. The proto with the original Eminence 15 (and the attenuator on the mid) did have a bit of noticeable grit/growl. The cab with the newer, modified Eminence 15 was a bit more clear/clean, I thought. They sounded a bit more clean and pure than the NV215, which is the most clean sounding of the big NV cabs.

One thing I did notice was that these cabs were quicker than most to be coaxed into a more gritty/grindy/growly tone if you start to dial in some drive from a head or pedal.

While I love the sound of my NV215 when run clean (exactly as you describe it) I mostly run mine with an SVT and a VT pedal, with varying amounts of OD. This gives the mids all kinds of interesting texture and the grit is so pleasant while retaining heft and chewiness. Great cabs, if these new ones sound like described I imagine they'd be close to the glorious tone I can get running the NV610 with the 215. I would love to run this combo more often but it's too silly for most of my venues.
