Bergantino NV158? ???

I've been using the Streamliner 900 and the WalkAbout for awhile with mine now... The WalAbout just really stands out with these cabs...

Yeah, the WalkAbout is really amazing with the NV115's! I was surprised by the volume, as well, considering that the WalkAbout is admittedly a little under powered and sealed cabs are not as sensitive as ported.

I'd really like to hear a review of an Aggie TH500 through one of these cabs. It should be a great pairing! However, the TH500 would only be putting out 250 watts at 8 ohms (even less than the Walkabout). I'm sure two NV115's would kill, but I'm looking for a single-cab solution.

The Walkabout only puts out about 180 watts @ 8 ohms, but it's a strong 180 watts.. The 2 cabs with the Walkabout is a really nice set-up as well... The cabs with the Streamliner is a nice rig too, I can't complain either way... :hyper:

Tom, how does the nv115 compare to the ht115? The ht115 i remember as very deep and hi fi. What im looking for is something with a really satisfying round punch for fingersyle that still sounds reasonably crisp for slap and has impact with pick.

This and the ml112 both look good, might need to just get one of each to try.

I'd run mine with a mesa M9. So I'd have the headroom.

Financially and space I need to commit to one cab for a while and while I'm sure I'd like this tone more I'm thinking a HD212 is safer option volume wise.

Could a Aguilar Tone Hammer 350 push a cab like this? Super interested in this cab, trying to decide between a TH350 and TH500 at the moment, getting a cab later. Love the idea of having a nice full range cab like this in the future.

It's a fair bit different from the HT115. Once again, it comes down primarily to the sound/response of a sealed cab versus a ported cab. Beyond that, the HT115 is a tad darker, while the NV115 is a tad more full/round. The HT115 has a more crisp attack and high end, and the NV115 is a bit more smooth. With all this talk of "warm, round, and smooth," please don't get the wrong impression of the NV115. It is a very clear and articulate cab, and it definitely packs a punch!

I had a chat with Jim today.

While what I heard him saying was. Don't think too much about the numbers, just try it, it kicks butt.

He went on to say ( I think) That it's 96 db consistent right down to the low mids. Which I think meant that it will hear loud comparatively speaking. That it's even enough to find it's sonic space and sit in the mix in a nice audible way.

Anyway, I'm giving it a go. We'll see!

I finally got to play one today at Bass San Diego. I was using an Epifani UL-501 head and a Lull M5V - sonic blue ... yummm. Anyway, this is a great cab for you guys who crave a vintage tone. It has nice balance from bottom to top, but slightly favors the low mids even with the UL-501 which is a fairly clean, modern-sounding head. It's a perfect cab for a P bass. The top end is still pretty crisp, but it definitely sounds like a sealed box. It's not a lot like an HT115 which, to my ear, is a bit more open and brighter in the high mids and highs. It has volume up the chunk and sounds fantastic when pushed.

MOTL.

I think a pair of these with a Carvin B1500 would just slay. Granted, the B1500 is not tubey like most of the previously mentioned amps, but the big low end of the amp would shine with the NV115s.

+1 For not having any tubes in it the B1500 has something very organic about it. Maybe its the limitless power in reserve that mimics a tube power section. Or whatever the "drive" knob adds. I'd love to hear a couple NV115s driven by a B1500 (preferably my B1500;)).

I think the Drive knob adds some boost not unlike the GKRB Series 2 heads.
