Bergantino NV158? ???

My 1001 died on me so looking for a clean micro head to fill the gap. Don't always need/want the titan.

What do you all think would be a good choice to power the nv115, ml112, aggie GS? GK MB Fusion maybe.

I have the MarkBass Big Bang, and ShuttleMax 9.2. Either one is a formidable choice, the ShuttleMax 9.2 being the most versatile and a head I doubt I will ever sell.

Having used the NV215 in a live setting every week for the last two years, I was very SURPRISED and AMAZED this past weekend how the half-sized NV115 performed equally as well as the NV215, if not a little better--from a volume and quality perspective. Using a CS Pbass with TI flats.

With the Reeves C225 gain at 12:00 and master volume at 10:00, the volume of one NV115 was MORE than enough to fill a church with a 1000+ people, backing a music group with a grand piano, drums, guitars, and choir. Granted we do minimal instrument miking and purposefully don't play at concert stage dB levels.

For practically half the weight and size, far easier handling and portability, and most importantly--QUALITY of sound, the NV115 is definitely a keeper for the long, long, long term. :)

Holy moly, what a rig! I'd love to hear this in action. Any clips, perhaps?:)

Cool. The 215 worked very well in our 400 seat sanctuary. Always at lower volume but what was nice was how well it filled the room at the lower volumes. It's good to hear this kind of report. Exactly what I've been wondering--can the 115 replicate the magic of the 215?

I have not done an A/B comparison, but it honestly sounded and felt like I was playing with the NV215 behind me. Replicating Bergantino NV215 magic? Indeed. :D

The EQ settings on the Reeves were the "flat EQ" settings as per Tom Bowlus' magazine review. Same settings I have used on the NV215. I leave it at flat and change the overall tone via playing style, bass EQ, and/or bass guitar itself.

This weekend I played both gigs with the 2 cabs.. Friday was at the lake in a room thats usually difficult to get a good sound.. I used the Streamliner 900 and it sounded great....
I've played this room before and always had a problem with lowend definintion.... Whats great about the NV-115's is the tight lowend... Saturday night was out on a patio with The Walkabout and I love this set-up... The NV-115 is a full sounding cab to my ears, you have everything there and it's tight and clean.. I have done a few gigs with just one cab and it's plenty... This rock gig I've been doing has a guitarplayer playing a Bolt amp into a Marshall cab and it has no problem keeping up... I was previously using a Shuttle 9.2 into a HT-112ER and it sounded fantastic.. It's a killer rig.. But when we had the horn section on the gig, it had a problem keeping up..

Man, I'm going to have to try and get out to see you play some night when I don't have a gig. I NEED to hear these cabs! You're up in the Buffalo area, correct?

Tried one today at BASS SAN DIEGO YOUR FRIENDLY BASS SUPER STORE! ..... (How's that guys? )

Odds are Munji will own one, in the next month. he just doesn't know it yet.

Review: I like it.

the end.

Just kidding. Nice, full round and thick in the lows but clear in the upper mids. The transition from the 15 into the 6"mid appears seamless. I think the charm with this cabinet is the cohesive presentation of the most important frequencies in what sounds like a singular voice. And my initial impression when I first took a gander at it was, "is that it? " because I looks so small.

My only wish was that this was a three way and Jim had stuck that nice tweeter in there that was used in the HT112 :)

I want a Reeves soooo bad.

Didn't you used to have an HT322? How did the NV115 compare? Is one with the Streamliner head enough to keep up with a tube half stack? How HiFi does it sound with the Shuttlemax?
