Okay, so I had some time to play with them last night. Initial impressions were very much on par with what Steve and I reported after playing around with his prototypes. Very controlled lows - I used the word "tight" before, and that may cause some folks to think of a very short, "blip" kind of a note; this is not the case. It's a strong, full note down low, but there's little to no "bloom" after you stop the note. So I'd call the lows "full, but controlled." As mentioned earlier, the upper lows to lower mids are very strong, somewhat on the warm/round side, and hit hard across a wide range (does not give the impression of hitting strong peaks on only a few frequencies). High end is more extended and airy than the NV215, and quite musical.
Here are some pics. The first one shows the relative size of the NV115 compared to my fEARful 15/6/1:

Of course, I had to do a little sonic A/B-ing, as well. The 15/6/1 is definitely bigger and deeper down low (it's quite amazing in that regard, actually), and it was more clear and concise sounding, even with the tweeter turned all the way off. The NV115 is more full/warm/round sounding, and seems to occupy more sonic space throughout the mids. Highs are a bit more mellow on the Berg, as well. The fEARful is really sensitive, too. One (8-ohm) 15/6 is closer to being as loud as two (8-ohm) NV115's than one NV115 is to a single 15/6. These cabs have very different personalities, and it would definitely come down to sonic preference. The Bergs might be a tad heavier, but that more compact design makes them a breeze to carry and move.
Next up, I had to try the NV115's on their sides with the C225. As expected, this combo sounds great, and performs just as good as you might hope it would. The smaller feet on the sides of the cabs are a nice touch, IME/IMHO:

And of course, the covers are nicely padded, fit great, and look slick!

Nice review Tom, question about the covers. Did they ship with the cabinets?
Covers come in different box than cabs, so shipping times may vary.
For the price of a Berg the covers should be included but they are not...
Just weighed my two NV115's. One came in at 52.6 lbs, and the other at 53.6 lbs. Not beach ball light, but again, the form factor and handle locations make them very manageable IME/IMHO.
I was also able to play some upright through them (the Blast Cult One4Five that we recently reviewed and are currently giving away). One of the first things you notice is the warm, full, but controlled low end. We are talking some very satisfying "thwump!" here! Next up, you notice that the higher frequency finger noise is not present, but the mid definitely goes high enough to capture a nice fingerboard slap. If you like the airy kind of high end that you get with some tweeters, the NV115 may not get you there. But if you like a beefy tone with good articulation and minimal left hand noise, the NV115 is a very nice fit.

I finally got to play one today at Bass San Diego. I was using an Epifani UL-501 head and a Lull M5V - sonic blue ... yummm. Anyway, this is a great cab for you guys who crave a vintage tone. It has nice balance from bottom to top, but slightly favors the low mids even with the UL-501 which is a fairly clean, modern-sounding head. It's a perfect cab for a P bass. The top end is still pretty crisp, but it definitely sounds like a sealed box. It's not a lot like an HT115 which, to my ear, is a bit more open and brighter in the high mids and highs. It has volume up the chunk and sounds fantastic when pushed.
MOTL.
This is good news, I was wondering how this would double.
I have a feeling this cab is going to be "just swell" with a P-Bass.
Plagiarism rears its ugly head on TalkBass.
Hey Munji! (hey Wally)
Well I got one.. Yes, it destroys with a P bass with flats.
More to come later.
BTW it's I'm in Boston if anybody wants to check it out.
