Bergantino NV158? ???

Tom, have you run it with the Sad SA200 (if I were ever to buy an all tube amp, that would be the One (assuming I could find one to buy))?

Temp OT, when you get your hands on a Big E cab, you should try the SA200 with that -- bet is kills!

No, I have not tried them with the SA200 yet, but yes, that's pretty much certain to be a great combination.

Speaking of Big E cabs, it just so happens that opportunities are afoot... :ninja:

Someone said that stairs would be involved in last weekend's gig with my loud rock band: new place for us. So, instead of the NV610 I brought my NV115 and HS210 combo. I'd used this rig once before with my rock band, but in a boomy concrete room where we had to play very quiet (for us), so it was a weak test.

This time was different: it was a biker-ish bar with good acoustics and we could crank up a bit. I was disappointed to discover that load-in was really easy: short schlep, no stairs. That is, disappointed because I didn't have the NV610. But once I set up, I realized how cool this new rig sounds!

I used my favorite bass, a black Sadowsky P5, alder/maple. JGR preamp through Stewart World 2.1, nothing else in the chain. The NV115 was nice and punchy, and smooth even with dirt dialed in. I was a little concerned about dirt, given that the mid driver can't be attenuated... but no buzzy bees, it was all good.

Oh: I had the HS210 plugged in as well, but same as before, I did not hear that cab. I'm sure it added low end oomph, but so would a second NV115. If the HS210 were on top I'd likely hear that and not the NV, but I wanted to hear the NV.

Anyway, I was genuinely happy. The NV610 is still my #1, but the NV115 was lots of fun: glorious in a different kind of way. I have a gig coming up with my Motown band, a week from this Saturday, so I'm going to use the NV/HS stack through then, which means it'll get two more rock band gigs as well. Variety can be nice!

cool.

I will also be rockin the NV115 + HS210 pair if I ever get a big room or outdoor gig.
For me, the NV115 is just right for the bands/rooms I'm in, but good to know there's more firepower available in adding the 210.

Just tried to order one from George at Bass Gear Direct in Sydney but unsurprisingly the first shipment has sold out :).
I will have to wait till late September/October for the next delivery. Oh well, my own fault for procrastinating......

Yup! I already mentioned how my NV115 did just fine by itself at an outdoor gig with my "big band" (FOH support, of course).

And the exciting news is that Bass Gear Direct have just advised that someone has withdrawn from a purchase so I get the last NV115 available downunder :hyper:
Hopefully I should receive it in the next fortnight. Looking forward to trying it with both the Fender Bassman 100T and the Super Bassman 300.....and if I had a more understanding swmbo I would be trying with a new Ampeg V4B reissue ;)
Can't wait.

You will love it. I am still blown away by how good it sounds. I have other guys I play with say "You really bought a 15?!?!?" and then they hear it...Wow!

Very tempted to order one, will have to wait for the October order though..

Report back on how it is when you get it!

Had mine up for sale but played it at a gig tonight (last night?). Outside by the pool at the local country club. Decided to see how it would do with no PA support. Pop/dance/rock/whatever band.

Cab did great. After the first sound check song I asked everyone if they could hear it because I wasn't in the PA and they all looked at me like . So I went with it. Dance patio stayed full most of the night so I guess it was OK. Could have gotten louder but wasn't necessary.

Going to keep it. Will probably get another one day. Want a TH500 for backup.

Nice !

Outdoors on the water (literally), no PA support. At one point I was told to turn down so that the low freqs didn't upset a certain resident across the river. :ninja:

Great shots Ken. Glad the cab is working well for you. I bet it sounds even better now that it has a few miles on it.
