Bergantino NV158? ???

Wish I knew how the NV115 sounds paired with a Bag End S15D. I already have one of those. I'll soon find out I guess....Once I receive payment from my latest sales, I'm going to order one.

A single NV115 is more than enough to keep up onstage with my "big band": guitar, drums, Hammond organ, and 5 piece horn section. I brought the extra cab because my 3-piece-plus-singer rock band plays WAY too loud.

But a pair of NV115s makes a killer rig, won't try to talk you out of it. :p

Thanks. :D The horn is mostly off, but not fully off. I've read conflicting reports about possible problems when fully attenuating a horn. But unless I'm kneeling down directly in front of the stack, I don't hear the HS210 or its horn. The stack gives me the additional headroom necessary for my stoopid loud rock band, but the overall tone is little different than the NV115 soloed.

I've played through the Bags a few times, enough to know that both the S15D and NV115 have great punch, and the NV115 mid driver gives it more top end. If top end is not your thing, a passive tone control smooths things out well enough. I've never done a direct A/B, so I can't comment on the "how low will they go" factor, but I play five string and never noticed that low end was lacking in either cab.

Been playing my NV115 powered by my WWUltra in a 7pc Latin Salsa Band. Love the sound. Its a great match with my Ampeg Baby Bass. The WW is a dual channel i also take my Nordy 5 P/J Electric. It sounds great! I'm not loud just have a lot Bass Low-mid presence.

I did a gig Wednesday with the NV115 and it smoked I used an MB F500 with 5pc top 40 band. I had no problem blending with the band. I even slapped a couple of Funk songs and it wasn't brittle and snarly/hissy.

I always found that WW's sounded great with Bergantino's cabs, the HT115's (A great stand Alone 15" cab) - AE 212. I could always dial in a great tone.
Half the mystery of the WW is learning how to use his eq/Mid section on the amp.

I had a great gig with my double NV115 stack last night. Powered them with my Orange AD200 MkIII. I was connected to the PA, but after sound check, we just took the bass out of the mix. Room-filling goodness, with very even tone throughout the room. This really surprised me, because I have played this room a lot, and it is very inconsistent. I think the "sealed factor" played a major role, here.

No good shots, but here are a few:

Sounded great on upright, too!

Always appreciate a photographer who knows how to capture my good side (aka "obscured side").

T-bird, tube head, NV's, and super rock pose = badass! Go Tom!

Did the Fodera get to come out and play? Looks lonely back there.

Yes, I did play the Fodera a good bit. Even rocked out some Audioslave and The Cult on the E5S!

Very cool rig!

Actually stays fairly compact looking for a 2x 15 setup.
It really is. As I was loading it into my car to head to the gig, it felt pretty small, too. But when you fire it up, it' everything you'd ever want from a 2x15 setup, and then some! :bassist: :bassist: :bassist:

Cool rig Tom.
While you're here. A BIG thanks got steering me to a Fender Super Bassman Tom.
No NV115 here but I'm loving the Super Bassman with my NV412!!! BOTH with electric and upright bass.

Yes, the SB300 is still a personal favorite, and it plays very nicely with Berg NV cabs!

I would think the BE would noticeably more efficient than the NV115, that might be an issue in how well they play together unless you have a two channel amp (like a Genz Benz 12.2 or a preamp into a two channel power amp).

Sweet Rig!

Any experience with Jule Amps Monique (+ a power-amp) with one or two NV115's ?

I'm not sure if I like the thunderchild 115 enough for other than double bass stuff...but I'll have to give it a go a few more times.

You aren't fooling around! I bet that sounds beautiful. Perfect power for that cab at 8ohms, and that mid driver and Jim's crossover should be awesome, along with all those tubes and the sealed cab vibe.

That nice 'full range' Sadowsky PJ doesn't hurt either!!!!

Nice!

swapped out my HS210 for a CN112. Needed the smaller form-factor for low-volume acoustic practices in my tribute band (the room is free, so I'm not complaining).

Looking forward to seeing what the CN112 sounds like on top of my NV115 in my other CR cover band. Might be good, might not, practice at stage volume on Saturday will tell (I gotta think it will be just great).
