IMO, it’s had to beat a Peavey Black Widow. With magnet they’re heavy as heck, but they deliver about all the goods

You should know what cabinet you will use before picking a speaker, or vice versa. You cannot put a random speaker into a random cab and expect it to sound good.

Also the word "best" means different things to different people.

Yep, that’s what IMO means. But the reason I mentioned Peavey Bw is because I hadn’t seen it mentioned as a driver choice.

I have several Peavey cabs with the 15 BWs so I’m biased. It’d be my #1 driver for a project.

They may not be the best choice but at least I know what I’m dealing with…

Had a HH Bass Machine running a 2x15 Peavey Black Widow cab, had to sell the rig back in the late 80's to make room when we found we had youngsters on the way. I'll never forget how good that cab sounded.

Use an HPF...gets rid of unwanted low frequencies and takes strain off your amplifier.
