Best bag or case for cables/misc gear?

Really sick of using milk crates and Tupperware containers for all my cables. Not really seeing much to remedy such a conundrum. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have a killer cart. Suitcase maybe. Kinda wanted a little more options built in as far a storage.

I also have a back pack, but it’s maxed out at this point.

1. Backpacks are great. I found a laptop one on clearance at Staples for $5 - padded area for my GK-500 head, and room for cables.
2. Look for laptop bags, often used at Goodwill and such. They have straps so you can carry them like a backpack, or sling them over your shoulder.
3. Soft carry on suitcases - used. They have handles and carry straps, if not wheels, depending on size.

+1 on old luggage.

I've been using an old American Tourister soft-sided duffle bag for more than 30 years... yup, the same brand that used to air the commercials with the gorillas slamming their stuff around (youtube those spots... quite amusing).

The bag holds all my cables, direct boxes, adapters, small percussion and more. It's been super... built tough-as-nails and still looks like it did the day I acquired it... whenever the heck that was. Sorta looks like this...

and if you know how to fold them they take up very little space when empty:

they normally clip closed on top, but you can also put a padlock through the metal loop:

Disclaimer: Yes, I know it's only one compartment, unless you count the passport holder on the side. It's been pointed out twice now, so you don't need to quote my post just to knock my idea down.

I bought a medium cable bag and should have got the large.

I pick up used luggage at garage sales. I also picked up a Hockey bag like new for $5 at a garage sale. I put all my mike stands and speaker poles in it. It also has wheels at one end so you can tow it around.

I use Husky Tool Bags from my local Home Depot.

They are made with heavy canvas and hold a lot of gear. The 15in bag costs $13.
My 18in bag holds my XR-16, tablet, mic chords... everything I need to run my PA at rehearsals.
