I can’t say enough great things about Messina cases. I have them for both my basses…

I'm pretty impressed with my Tuff Bag so far. The only downside is that it's a little heavy. It's not a deal breaker though. I'll have to see how it holds up long term... Messinas look great too and are not made in China, if that's important to you.

I don't know who makes the Lemur-branded bags, but i got one of those for a fractional bass, and it is an very good. Comparable quality to my old Mooradian bag, and affordable.

Not Sure exactly but I think the owner retired and his children were uninterested in continuing the business

Yeah $1100 for a bag is a little much for me. I’d like to keep it around What I would have spent for a Mooradian. ($500-600?). Even less is better of course.

I really like my heavily padded Kaces bag. Kinda on the pricey side but a good investment.

I have had a Messina for around 6 or 7 years and it is a great bag but in mine the stitching around the zippers in the pockets keeps coming apart and creating holes. I finally had a shoemaker reinforce the pockets with leather. Before that I had a Mooradian for 15 years. Not sure what I will get next - the Kolstein is too heavy, the Chronkhite too expensive. Maybe a Bobelock.

I’ve had 2 Messina bags with 2 different basses. They’re amazing. My older case is pushing 10 and apart from a little road crud is basically in perfect shape.

I would love to have a Messina but the Bobelock bags I've been using for the past 10+ years just keep on keeping on. They are pretty inexpensive, too.

I have a 3/4 sized Bobelock which is a bit too heavy IMO, however the price is great. I also have a no-brand 4/4 that I use with my 7/8’s bass because I like its lighter weight. I have a Messina for my EUB, and I wish I could afford more.

I’ve never found the Bobelock to be heavy at all, except when I cram too much crap in the pockets. But then my last case was a Soundgear, so…
