Best bass distortion without loosing low end?

It has a blend knob and a treble boost/ cut knob (tone). Sounds really good in my humble opinion...

Also, I tend to really like fuzz bass. It doesn't rob so much low end. I demoed a FuzzFace and an Octavia with a bass and both sounded great. The Danelectro Cool Cat Fuzz ain't bad, especially for the money.
