Best Bass for Bar Fights?

This one :)

Ok, so I'm getting ready for my first bar gig in quite a while and it crossed my mind that I should probably use a bass that strikes a nice balance of on stage presence and tone yet could easily be used as a weapon if necessary. I'm thinking my Squier P will do it. Can afford to destroy it if necessary and looks pretty cool doing it although I do wish I still had my Cort Steinberger. That thing was essentially a baseball bat with strings!

Any other options I should consider?
we had a thread like this a few months ago, it didnt go well.

While obviously the answer is "A Fender", or more specifically "any fender". A Telecaster would be your first choice, but Tele basses are kind of rare. Most hardwood coffee table basses works great too, as they tend to be very very heavy. Concentrated force, you know?

Not that I would condone attacking someone with a deadly weapon like a bass. I prefer old school weighted mic stands.

Ha, I was just about to find and post that one. Lots of good suggestions in this thread, I'd say the P, T-40, Steinberger, and most any BC Rich definitely have their merits. Those of you shunning the thread need to lighten up, musicians have used their instruments for self defense for years, key words being "self defense" and not "assault". When you consider the case of Dimebag Darrel, I have no problem what so ever with a musician defending himself however they see fit. Having said that, gun in a simple bar fight is a bit much, you can use your gear to tolchock someone that rushes you on stage, sure, but no one has to die in a simple bar brawl.

I am sure somebody must have already said the obvious...Gibson Ripper! If the names is not enough, consider the weight. Then again, maybe not the best choice if you don't want to crush skulls. :dead:
