Best Bass Intro!

Nice one, Moonraker! Mos Def has some tastey lines on his album. I heard he's coming out with a rock album- wonder if there's any truth to that...

How about Patrick Dahlheimer from Live? He puts a nice little fill in at the beginning of "Pain Lies on the Riverside" ... not a very difficult riff, but it sounds cool and helps build the song up perfectly!
 
I believe you mean "Fish on" by Primus.. very cool intro.. I also like Primus's "Over the Electric Grapevine."

I don't know if it counts (there's also some drums going on), but I love Tim Bogert's distorted bass intro on Vanilla Fudge's "The Break Song."

There's a great solo on that song too.

Definately agree with ya there on "Pain Lies On the Riverside". How 'bout their song "Iris" (from Throwing Copper). Beautiful. Ok...I can think of many more, but I'll be here forever. :)
