Best Bass Intro!

Jaco only plays on "Coyote". "In France They Kiss On Main Street" is Max Bennett. That one's from "The Hissing Of Summer Lawns" - which was before Joni discovered Jaco.

He could have been referring to the live album "Shadows and Light" - which has Jaco throughout on bass and as musical director!! :p

Although on neither album does it really have a bass introduction - but on the live album it is a fantastic moment when you hear Jaco come in for the first time on "In France they Kiss..." - it really lifts the whole thing! :)

It starts with guitar and bass comes in at the same time as the vocals - so it's not really a bass intro...

Thought I'd bring this one back :)

Crush - Dave Matthews Band

Easy to play but...
Stefan has such a sweet tone!
Yes! I love that song/intro. Crush was the first thing I ever played live with another person (other was a gal doing vox/acoustic guitar). She didn't play it like the unplugged thing on MTV, so I ended up improvising around chord changes on my fretless -- first time I'd ever played the fretless live too!

I'll toss in another vote for Stanley Clarke - Silly Putty and a version of Wade in the Water I have that's listed as the artist being Kirk Whalum...but there's a small bit on it where a guy says "I'm very pleased to introduce to you, my brother, Kevin Whalum". But Kevin mighta been doing vox, so I don't know who it was, really. Never even heard of the guy in any other song or with any group other than that version of Wade in the Water, but it's the best damn version I've EVER HEARD. Beautiful tone and great playing in there.

EDIT: Ahhhh! I forgot Incognito - Jacob's Ladder. It's such an amazing intro, I can't believe I forgot it.

i love the bass work on 'the power bo believe' by king crimson as a whole. as far as intros are concerned,

1. RATM - calm like a bomb\bombtrack\no shelter\darkness
2. TOOL - hush\disposition\46&2\schism
3. A Perfect Circle - weak and powerless\thinking of you
4. Theres one track on the 'consice king crimson' that i'm trying to think of...its a really fast bass line, thats kinda funky...i believe its the last track, and i love it.
