Now here is a man with TASTE. Lines like that are too cool to be believed. I'll betcha Jaco liked that one too (he loved old jazz and standards).

And my nomination for most obscure entry: "Scrapple the Apple" from Jim Hall's "Live" CD. Don Thompson and Jim Hall team up to play the head of this bebop classic at lightning speed.

For me some of the best Bass intros would have to be:

1.Quicksand Jesus - Skid Row (though an Electro Acoustic
Guitar is the main part of the intro, the bassline lies
Underneath it really smoothly, still gives me Goosebumps)

2.U2 - New Years Day (I've seen them a few times and every
time Adam Clayton starts that intro the crowd always goes
nuts)

3.Keep The Faith - Bon Jovi (Though Alec John Such is
credited with that on the Keep the Faith album,I hear
consistent rumours that Hugh McDonald plays it, and indeed,
composed it as he apparently claims)

4.Dancing in the Moolight - Thin Lizzy (typical as I'm from
Ireland,but hell, it's a great intro as plenty here seem to
agree)

5.I believe in Love - U2 (from 1988's Rattle and Hum album,
though its the same note consistently, its still cool)

6.Another One Bites the Dust - Queen

7.Come Together - The Beatles

8.Peace Sells - Megadeth

9.Tailgunner - Iron Maiden (form 1990's No Prayer for the
Dying)

10.Stranger in a Strange Land - Iron Maiden
