Best Bass Player you've ever seen Live

Well, well. Coming from Finland, I have to say Pekka Pohjola is high on the list. Famous ones are another thread most likely... Duck Dunn, Chris Squire, Billy Talbot (several times), Pino Palladino come to mind right off the bat.

But, I think I was most impressed with John Patitucci once upon a time in America (New York, 1985, with Chick Corea Electric band).

In technical skills: Jaco P and Jeff Berlin

And since I love reggae: I just saw The Wailers Sunday with Aston 'Family Man' Barrett still jammin on bass; and years ago Robbie Shakespeare touring with Black Uhuru and with Peter Tosh.

I used to also like Bill Wyman with the Stones - the Charlie Watts/Bill Wyman groove was great live.

I once saw the Grateful Dead and liked Phil Lesh a lot at the time. Or years ago I saw Zepplin and John Paul Jones was great.

For me, it's Paul McCartney. I've seen him live eight times, he never disappoints, and no one can play and sing like that.

I've seen Geddy Lee and Stanley Clarke, brilliant players, but given a choice I'd pick McCartney again.

I also have seen John Entwistle, he was amazing, and for me, Tom Petersson is just amazing on the 12 string bass! Fun as hell to watch play!! Seen Petersson something like twenty times.

Tony Levin with Peter Gabriel (early 90's)
Gail Ann Dorsey with Bowie in front of only about 2000 people.(great singer as well)
Both were incredible, mind you I have never really been into watching just a good bass player, I find it rather boring, I would rather see a good overall show.
