Best Bass under $1000

It's not in your poll and since Nino didn't put it in his list I'll chime in with:
G&L L2000
It lists for >1000 but can be had new for less. The L-1500 and SB-2 are also very nice. And the L-2500 and L-1505 if you want a five string. Personally I'd look elsewhere for a jazz-style bass instead of a JB-2 but that's a personal preference thing.

I'd second the G&L...as a matter of fact, for $1000, you can probably get two very good used basses. Once you allow yourself to look at the used market, you will find a lot of deals at under $1000, such as my Alembic which cost me less than $900.
I'll second, second the motion for G&L! These are incredibly made with awesome tone and for the price it is a steal.
Copley is a custom shop out of Nashville that makes some decent basses (prices range from $1200 - $1500)...and...when he's got overstock, he throws them up on ebay...so I picked up my custom 5-string new for $370. Not bad.

For less than $1000 you can easily pick up a new or used 4,5, or 6 string Peavey Cirrus. Do a search here and read up about them. They're a serious bang for the buck bass! Easy to find new and used. Ebay has about 6 or 8 of them up for grabs right now. Just my opinion but you'll have trouble finding a better bass for twice the price.

I don't know of a single company off of the top of my head that has made as drastic an improvement in some basses as Peavey has.

Here are some Cirrus prices that I just got from a Peavey dealer who is trying to move the following basses.

being an Ibanez, fender and Spector owner, Id like to say they all have their quirks. I use my spector more then the others but that is only because it is a 6. Fenders are smoother but if you get a well made spector, you can get a great bass out of it
I would go with a Fender MIA jazz. I think it can get a wide variety of sounds and is a hot lookin bass.
Ibanez BTB! OK, I haven't exacly played many that you mentioned, but check out a 500, 400, 300(34' scale) or if you have the cash, BTB1000E.

Of the basses you have mentioned, I would recommend a Spector. But, if you have small hands or want a real fast neck, I would go for an Ibanez on that merit alone.
With that aside. I can't believe that no-one here has mentioned a Warwick! You can get a Warwick Corvette or Streamer new for under $1000. Exotic woods, awesome design, quality craftmanship, killer sound, great playability. Try one out!
